This third generation, family owned winery produces a wide variety of award-winning varietals from more than 100 acres of Santa Clara Valley estate vineyards - as well as from other premium winegrowing regions within California. Today, the winery produces nearly 40,000 cases annually but still abides by the family philosophy - to produce natural, quality wines to share with family and friends. The family continues to oversee every phase of the winemaking process.   Premium Red
Comprised of Zinfandel, Ruby Cabernet, Petite Sirah, Barbera, and Carignane -- produces a zesty table wine with aromas of cherries and berries within a framework of oak.
  Premium White
Crafted from a blend of French Colombard and Chenin Blanc, this dry table wine has an inviting aroma reminiscent of melons, pears and citrus fruit.
  Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Produced from grapes grown in California’s famed Central Coast district including Monterey and San Luis Obispo Counties. Our winemaking team included 11% SLO Petite Sirah for additional color and finesse. The 2001 vintage opens with a display of lusciously ripe cassis/currant aromas with tantalizing hints of plum and white pepper lurking behind. A nicely balanced rich oak component frames the aromas and leads to a mouth filling finish with touch of anise, herbs, and lingering spice that excite the palate. This robust style red would be perfect to serve with steaks and robust cheeses. This wine should continue to develop in the bottle over the next 5 to 7 years. The 2001 vintage produced 1,150 cases.
  Private Reserve Chardonnay
This Guglielmo (gool-YELL-mo) Private Reserve was produced from Chardonnay grown in the cool climate of Carneros in southern Sonoma County. On the palate an array of inviting tropical fruit and honeydew melon flavors emerge and linger into the well-balanced finish. Ideal to serve with an afternoon of baguettes and cheeses or a meal of linguine vongole. 100% barrel fermentation in one-third new 60-gallon cooperage accentuates toasted oak and vanilla aromas and complements the underlying floral essence. 100% malo-lactic fermentation introduces a buttery note to the nose and lends to the creamy style of this wine. This style of Chardonnay is best enjoyed within two to three years of the vintage date. The release of the vintage 2002 Sonoma County Chardonnay totaled 632 cases.
  Private Reserve Dolcetto
Produced from 100% Dolcetto grown in Santa Barbara County, the wine opens with an inviting array of aromas including raspberry, vanilla, smoky cedar and anise. On the palate tangy cranberry fruit flavors and well-integrated tannins linger like an Italian sunset. The rich fruit and soft spice is perfect with a variety of richly flavored foods, especially Italian! This special limited bottling produced 250 cases.
  Private Reserve Grignolino
Enticing berry and cherry aromas and flavors are nicely accented by a touch of spice. The light acidity makes this unique wine a perfect match for a variety of spicy chicken, meat and pasta dishes. This wine can be served slightly chilled with a variety of lighter foods including turkey, scallops, pasta salads and barbequed chicken. The limited production of the 2004 vintage yielded only 238 cases.
  Private Reserve Merlot
The 2001 vintage was produced from fruit grown in San Ysidro Vineyards in Southern Santa Clara County. This is our first Merlot release from this vineyard, and we are very pleased with the quality of fruit grown here. Our Private Reserve Merlot is aimed toward the stylistic goal of producing a big, mouth-filling Merlot that finishes with a velvety softness. The wine is packed with a nose-pleasing array of currant, black cherry and vanilla toast aromas. Expressive tannins and understated oak allow intriguing boysenberry fruit flavors to develop on the palate. This richly flavored wine is perfect for full-flavored fare including grilled steaks, lamb chops, or tomato-based pastas. This Santa Clara County Merlot should continue to gain additional complexities in the bottle for at least another 3 - 5 years. This 2001 bottling yielded approximately 700 cases.
  Private Reserve Petite Sirah
Produced from 100% Petite Sirah grown in our estate vineyards surrounding the winery. This vineyard - first planted by our Grandfather some 60 years ago - produces Petite Sirah of unusual depth and character. The 2000 vintage opens in the glass with lovely ripe berry and grape aromas touched by a kiss of honey and spice. The sublime dark fruit and spice aromas follow through onto the palette where they are joined by subtle oak and firm tannins in a warm and resinous finish. This Petite Sirah should be perfect for full-flavored fare such as grilled beef, leg of lamb, and game dishes. Although very enjoyable now, this wine should continue to gain additional complexities in the bottle for at least another 5 –8 years. The 2000 vintage yielded approximately 1,000 cases.
  Private Reserve Pinot Blanc
Bottled as an exclusive offering for our Guglielmo (gool-YELL-mo) Wine Group members, this complex, barrel-fermented 2002 Monterey County Pinot Blanc displays inviting tropical fruit aromas and flavors - complemented by hints of butter, vanilla and toasty oak. Perfect with rich seafood or chicken entrees.
  Private Reserve Pinot Grigio
One of the most popular of our limited releases, we are happy to again make available this lovely Pinot Grigio. Produced especially for the members of our Guglielmo Wine Group, this wine will be available primarily through our Tasting Room. Produced from Pinot Grigio grapes grown in several of California’s best wine growing regions. The 2004 vintage jumps from the glass with fragrant aromas of peach, grapefruit, lichee and tropical fruit. The intense fruit aromas continue on the palate evolving to a refreshingly crisp and cleansing finish. This nicely balanced wine is a perfect complement for seafood or pasta with white sauces. The 2004 vintage yielded 500 cases
  Private Reserve Sangiovese
The Guglielmo family proudly offers this Cal-Italia wine in celebration of the rich Old World winemaking tradition. The Sangiovese is the predominate grape variety used to produce the Italian Chianti Classicos. Our 2003 Private Reserve Sangiovese was produced from grapes grown in our own Santa Clara Valley. After fermentation the wine was aged in American oak barrels for nine months. Our stylistic goal with the Sangiovese is a subtle oak background with an emphasis on the grape’s charming fruit components. The wine opens in the glass with a vibrant & lively array of pomegranate and ripe plum aromas enhanced by a wisp of cedar. On the palate the dark fruit characters develop and evolve into a warm and lingering finish dusted with white pepper. It lends itself to a wide variety of foods including rare red meats, game birds, or spicy red-sauced pasta dishes. We produced 900 cases of this 2003 vintage.
  Private Reserve Zinfandel
Produced from Estate Grown Zinfandel from our Santa Clara Valley vineyards. These vineyards - first planted by our grandfather over 50 years ago - continue to produce an extremely deep-fruited Zinfandel. After initial racking from redwood tanks the wine was aged approximately one years in small 60-gallon French & American oak barrels. Displaying an exceptional balance of fruit, spice, and tannin, this wine is excellent with lamb, steak, spicy pasta dishes, and well aged cheeses
  Villa Emile
The 2002 Villa Emile Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from grapes grown in Lodi winegrowing district. The wine opens in the glass with buoyant red raspberry fruit complemented by aromatic notes of cedar, cinnamon and nutmeg. The initial bright berry fruit on the palate soon reveals a well defined wine with hints of oak and spice. Raspberry and nutmeg linger on the finish. This Cabernet is the perfect match for entrees of grilled steak, tomato-based pastas, lamb chops and spicy chili, as well as many full-flavored cheeses.
  Villa Emile Chardonnay
For the 2004 Villa Emile Chardonnay we return to the world-renown grapegrowing region of California’s Monterey County. Warm days produce Chardonnay with luscious citrus and tropical fruit character while the cool nights contribute to a well-balanced acidity. The 2004 vintage shows inviting fresh-picked citrus, apple, and pear aromas and flavors complemented on the palate by a subtle touch of toasty oak. While pairing perfectly with fish and seafood, this wine is equally at home with poultry dishes and pastas.
  Villa Emile Merlot
Our 2002 Villa Emile Merlot is produced from grapes grown in California’s Lodi District—where warm days are tempered at night by the cooling air from San Francisco Bay. Zesty dark berries combine with violet and spice aromas carry over from the nose to the palate. The oak integrates well into the finish— complementing the bright, ripe fruit component that is the charm of this wine. Midnight ruby in color, this Merlot has a distinctive lingering quality that pairs equally well with spicy pasta dishes, beef steaks or rich cheeses.
  Villa Emile White Riesling
Produced from grapes in the very cool climate of Northern Monterey County, the 2003 White Riesling is packed with intense floral fruit characters and crisp balancing acidity. On the palate are very forward notes of apricots and pears which complement a wide variety of foods, including pates, seafood bisques and spicy Asian cuisines.
