Cabernet Franc - "Moonlight"
The color is a beautifully dark garnet and the nose is an amazing array of black fruits, currants, spice, oak and leather. The mouthfeel is full and rich loaded with flavors of black cherry and blackberry, allspice and leather framed by firm tannins and oak. This wine will age well for several years. This wine has been blended with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot for added complexity. It was aged a full three years in primarily French oak of which 50% was new. This is our first Cabernet Franc bottling since the 1995 vintage and is a natural to be paired with smoked duck, frilled lamb or pasta. Decant for several hours prior to trying this wine.

Cabernet Sauvignon - "Nebula"
The color is a handsome dark red and the nose is delightfully complex with aromas of black cherry, cassis and earthiness mingling with a mocha oaky essence. The mouthfeel is rich and full with flavors of black cherry, black olive, minerals and leather cascading down on the palate. The finish displays some pretty firm tannins that will soften with age. Given proper aging this is our finest Cabernet Sauvignon "Nebula" to date. This wine is 94% Cabernet Sauvignon from two vineyards in the Paso Robles AVA. The remaining 6% is split evenly with Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot which were blended to enhance the color and tannin structure. This Cabernet was bottled without fining or filtering. Enjoy!

Cabernet Sauvignon - Estate
Pour into your glass and gaze in wonder at this beautiful dark red wine. Swirl and breathe in the interesting mélange of Bing cherry, plum, minerals and mocha found in the aromas. Take a sip. The mouthfeel is vast and sumptuous followed by concentrated flavors of sweet cherry, blackberry, blueberry, minerals and dried herbs. All intertwined with a generous (but not overdone) backbone of oak. Everything is in balance--fruit, oak, acidity and tannins--and will meld and age gracefully for at least the next 3 - 7 years. A 20% blending of Estate Merlot was added to soften and round-out the mid-palette. Both components were aged for 36 months in primarily American (75%) oak, a third of which were new. This is our first-ever bottling of Estate Cabernet. The vines were 6 years old for this vintage and are already showing great maturity. The Midnight Estate Vineyard is a west-side, hilly, rocky, low-yield vineyard which produces exceptionally concentrated fruit. Try this wine and taste how you will be rewarded by hiding a few bottles of this Cabernet in you cellar for several years!

The mouthfeel is full and creamy with ripe flavors of plum and black cherry intermingling with cocoa nut and a minerally spiciness. This all combines in an amazingly complex and concentrated wine finishing within a framework of toasty oak and firm acidity. Our best Merlot to date. This is 100% Merlot made from grapes grown on the Midnight Estate Vineyard. Cropped at 1.5 tons per acre in 2001, the resulting wine is a very ripe and extracted style of Merlot. It shows Firmer acidity than most Merlots and is accented by generous American oak tannins that give this wine tremendous ageability for many years. Decant for several hours prior to trying this wine. A great wine to sip and study!
