Leelanau Wine Cellars Visit our tasting room year round in beautiful Omena and sample our complimentary award-winning Chardonnays, Rieslings and the ever popular "seasonal" and fruit wines. Our knowledgeable, friendly staff will enhance your wine tasting experience. Browse our gift shop and discover specialty boutique items found only in our tasting rooms. After tasting, climb through our vineyards to enjoy a panoramic view of Grand Traverse Bay.

Directions
Take M-22 north from Traverse City to Omena. Take left on Tatch Road (County Road 626) and go 1/2 mile up the hill. The winery is on the right side.

  2002 Meritage
This blend of 50/50 Merlot & Cabernet Franc was Barrel Aged, unfined, and unfiltered. Brimming with dark Cherry forward fruit it is full-bodied with a hint of spice. Smooth tannins and bold, rich color combine to make this wine a winner!
  2002 Pinot Noir
This medium-bodied, Barrel Aged wine has classic Cherry fruit undertones. Heavier tannins increase this wines' age ability but can be enjoyed now!
  Apple
This crisp, apple wine is a combination of 5 apples including the Jonathon, Spy, Ida Red, Jonathon Gold, and the Golden Delicious where it gets its' beautiful golden color. A SILVER MEDAL winner at both the 2005 Taster's Guild and 2005 OCC Wine Competitions! A BRONZE MEDAL winner at the 2005 Michigan State Fair.
  Autumn Harvest
A dry medium-bodied red with wild berry and cherry nuances.
  Blueberry
This wine is made from wild blueberries that taste good and are good for you! A BRONZE MEDAL winner at the 2005 Taster's Guild Wine Competition.
  Blueberry Port Wine
This after dinner wine is invitingly soft and engulfing to all of your senses. The blueberries saturate your taste buds as your palette travels on an unforgettable journey of flavor! Not only does this taste delicious but researchers at the USDA Human Nutrition Center have ranked blueberries number 1 in antioxidant activity when compared to other fruits and vegetables! 100% Pure cherry wine made with Northern Michigan tart cherries, which taste good and are good for you! A BRONZE MEDAL winner at the 2005 Oakland Community College Wine Competition.
  Cherry Port Wine
Our Cherry Port Wine is bursting with cherry flavor and there are at least 17 compounds of antioxidants in tart cherries to help improve your health! This may be a delicious way to enjoy the benefits of the tart cherries while relaxing after a long day. A SILVER MEDAL winner at the 2005 Michigan State Fair as well as the 2004 Oakland Community College and 2004 Taster's Guild Competition.   Grand Reserve Chardonnay
This wine was a GOLD MEDAL winner at the 2004 Michigan State Fair and is for sale exclusively in our winery tasting room. Packed with rich flavors and tropical fruit, butterscotch, and mild French oak flavors, this wine will age gracefully for years under proper conditions or may be enjoyed today! This wine is at its best when served with a delicious meal!
  Late Harvest Johannisburg Riesling
This is an elegant wine with fruity aromas and a gentle complexity that goes well with food. It dances on the pallet with balanced acidity and subtle nuances of melon, apples, and peaches. This wine won a DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL at the 2005 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition in New York State. It also took a GOLD MEDAL at the 2005 Taster's Guild Wine Competition.
  Leelanau Peninsula Chardonnay
This Chardonnay was 100% barrel fermented. This wine shows a youthful fruitiness with good balance and a nice, crisp finish. This Chardonnay is bold, yet soft and intriguing! A GOLD MEDAL winner at the 2005 Taster's Guild Wine Competition! and a GOLD MEDAL winner at the 2005 Michigan State Fair.
  Leelanau Red
Medium-bodied with subtle berry fruit and a round sweet texture. Enjoy chilled or at room temperature.
  Leelanau White
A blend of Chardonnay and Vignoles which makes for an inviting wine with a citrus finish that is perfect with a meal or snack in the afternoon. a SILVER MEDAL winner at the 2005 Oakland Community College Wine Competition.
  Merlot
This fully dry, elegant red wine is unfined and unfiltered and barrel aged resulting in a delicious Merlot that will age gracefully or may be enjoyed today. There were only 19 cases produced from our young vineyard and it is selling out quickly! If you enjoy spicy red wines you may want to purchase some today! A BRONZE MEDAL winner at the 2005 Michigan State Fair.
  Muscat
This varietal grape makes a wine with classic musky overtones and tropical fruit. An excellent dessert or "anytime" favorite.
  Omena-Village Nouveau
First release of the 2005 vintage wine!! Very Limited Quantity!! This exceptionally fruity, soft wine is great with all holiday meals and celebrations.
  Peach
Beautiful golden color sunshine in a glass. This wine reminds one of "peach cobbler"!!
  Pear
This wine reminds one of being in the middle of a pear orchard during harvest season. Our previous vintage was a BRONZE MEDAL winner at the 2005 Oakland Community College Wine Competition.
  Pear Nectar

  Pinot Grigio
An elegant varietal wine with a fruity, clean taste and a refreshing finish. Previous vintage won a Double Gold at the 2004 Oakland Community College Great Lakes Wine Competition and a Gold/Best of Class at the 2004 Pacific Rim International Wine Competition.
  Raspberry

  Raspberry Port Wine

  Renaissance
This is a very dry, well-balanced white with good roundness on the palate. Citrus flavors with a soothing clean finish.
  Sleeping Bear Red
This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Baco Noir. It has ripe berry and spicy aromas, and flavors complemented by a supple mouth feel and earthy finish.
  Sleeping Bear White
An elegant blend of 75% Chardonnay and 25% Vignoles. This wine has been created to capture the crisp ripe apple flavors of Northern Michigan Chardonnay and the sweet tropical fruit flavors of melon and pineapple in Vignoles. A light oak flavor compliments this fruit forward wine.
  Spiced Wine or Witches Brew
Our secret recipe made with cinnamon, cloves and other natural spices. Makes great sangria in the summer and on those chilly nights, warm it gently in the microwave by the glass or try a "witches brew" by simmering the wine in a crock pot with a cinnamon stick!
  Spring Splendor
Insinuating flavors of apple & peach caressed with a touch of sweetness. Light and fruity, perfect for hot summer days on Lake Michigan.
  Strawberry

Our Vintage Port Wine is back after a very long wait! This dessert wine is a delicious blend of the Cabernet Franc grape and our very own spirits! It has been aged in oak barrels to create a wonderful finish! Enjoy now or age it for years. A BRONZE MEDAL winner at the 2005 Michigan State Fair.
  Vis a' Vis
Very Limited Quantity!! This is a special proprietary wine that is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Gamay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. It has barrel flavor, fullness, spice, and a delightful finish

  Wit and Wine Red
Leelanau Peninsula estate grown grapes were barrel aged in both French Oak and American Oak to create this special limited edition red wine. This blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot is a well-balanced wine that is big on fruit, medium tannin and has lower acidity. A portion of the proceeds of this wine will be given to the Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College
