Frick Winery

Frick Winery Bill Frick and Judith Gannon started this winery in 1976 with the proceeds from the sale of their 1957 Chevrolet. In the small, cool winery, hidden away on a back road, Bill Frick hand crafts complex, rare wines that reflect the true character of the grape. Frick grapes are grown on steep, sunbaked hillsides in the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County, California. Here the wines from syrah, viognier, cinsaut and merlot reflect the warm California sunshine and rocky soils in every delicious glass. The wines are naturally made, in small lots, by hand with no fining or filtration.

  CARIGNANE Mendocino County
DUCK PATE, PASTA MARINARA, BBQ RIBS, PRIME NEW YORK CUT, SALAMI SANDWICH, SHARP CHEESES. Italian food in geneal.Raspberry and red fruit aromas. Pomegranate, raspberry and cranberry flavors. Lively and bright on the tongue. Flavors of raspberry and red cherry. Lingering finish. 100% carignane grapes from a vineyard over 100 years old .
  CINSAUT Dry Creek Valley
DUCK, QUAIL, SQUAB, TURKEY. This is a fruity wine for birds. Good with French and Italian recipes and barbecue. Cherries, and strawberries jump out of the glass. A wonderful wine made from a rare grape. Rich, elegant flavors with lots of fruit. A little spice and earth add to the interest.
  Cinsaut Rose' 2002
PACIFIC SALMON, TURKEY, HAM, GRINDER SANDWICHES, SUMMER FRUIT SALAD, POLISH DOGS (like you get a Giants game) , BARBECUED CHICKEN, TUNA SALAD; Absolutely dry RoseĀ¹ wine. Casual. Great for picnic. Serve chilled, like a white, but more flavors. Fresh red cherry and strawberry fruit and earthy spice flows through.
  MERLOT Conley Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley
PATE', PASTA WITH MEAT BALLS, LEG OF LAMB, LENTIL SOUP, TURKEY, CHEESEBURGER, PRIME RIB OF BEEF; excellent with meat, French Classical, California Traditional, Italian. Delicious red wine. Grown on the steep Dry Creek Valley Hillsides that we like for great red wine. The vineyard terraces sometimes drop off to a 30 foot cliff. Incredible intensity of black cherry fruit. Complex, rich components, including cocoa, coffee, leather and soft tannins. A 100% merlot wine for Cab lovers.

LOBSTER, POACHED SOLE, STEAMED CLAMS, MUSSELS, VEGETABLE CURRIES, FUN CHOW, KUNG PAO CHICKEN; good with spicy foods. Asian and Indian dishes. Stands out with French Classical, East Indian and Vietnamese menus. Rich aroma of pear , ginger and clove. Flavors of pear, apple, papaya, persimmon, mango and meyer lemon. Has a unique nutty, cherry pit finish. Delicious 100% viognier from our estate's Gannon Vineyard.
