Frogpond Farm is the first and only certified organic winery in Ontario. Owner/ winemaker Jens Gemmrich and Heike Koch believe in working in harmony with nature by trying to establish a balanced environment both in the vineyard as well as in the wine making process. Frogpond Farm does not operate a retail store but you can order directly from the farm. There are two wines available: a dry and fruity 2001 organic Riesling and an elegant and full-bodied 2001 organic Cabernet Merlot.

Directions
From the QEW Niagara: Take Exit 38B. Make a right onto York Road. Follow York Rd. all the way through the village of St.Davids until you see Concession 2 on your left. Follow Conc.2 down the hill until there is Larkin Road on your right. (it’s the next one after Line 5). Make a right onto Larkin Rd. We are the last house on your right at 1385 Larkin Rd. From the Old Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake: Follow the Niagara Parkway towards Niagara Falls. Make a right at Kurtz Orchards onto East West Line. Make a left onto Concession 1. Follow Conc.1 until there is Larkin Road on your right. (it’s the next one after Line3) We are the first house on your left at 1385 Larkin Road.

Cabernet/Merlot
Our 2005 organic Cabernet Merlot is a fresh and appealing ruby coloured wine with spicy wild raspberry flavours, delicate floral aromas and subtle young tannins. Try this fruity dry wine with pasta, steaks and stews.

Cabernet/Merlot
Our 2002 organic Cabernet Merlot is a full-flavoured, fruity red wine with a glowing ruby colour, aromas that suggest raspberry and cassis and well integrated tannins. This vibrant wine goes well with roasted meats or vegetables and Italian dishes.

Organic Riesling
Our 2001 organic Riesling is a dry white wine with lively flavours of apricot, honey and lemon verbena. This earthy wine has been aged in our 2500-liter oak casks adding a mellow complexity and full mouth feel. Best enjoyed with salmon, light meats, pork and many vegetarian dishes.

Organic Riesling
Our 2002 organic Riesling is a crisp dry white wine with abundant flavours of citrus, pears and apricot lingering on the palate. This refreshing wine is especially well paired with white meat and seafood as well as a variety of salads and soups.

Organic Riesling
Our 2004 organic Riesling has a floral nose reminiscent of meadows and orange blossom. This dry Riesling unites peach, honey and grapefruit flavours with a smooth mouth feel. A wine for the patio that is well complemented by appetizers, cheese, light fish and poultry.

Organic Rosé
Our 2005 organic Rosé combines gentle spicy Cabernet Franc fruit with fresh Riesling “zing”. A dry wine with a smooth mouth feel and abundant plum, pear and red berry flavours. This deeply coloured Rosé complements root vegetables, turkey and pork dishes as well as light lunches.
