This Cabernet Sauvignon 2000 is totally and wonderfully enjoyable now. The nose is rich and elegantly balanced with red berry and some floral notes with the complexities that the oak aging brings. We use seven different French barrels for our Cabernet. Each of these barrel makers has his artistic way to express the personality of their barrels. I use cooperage like a delicate spice to enhance the quality and complexity of our wine in a unique way. The blend is Cabernet and Merlot, both 100% from our Estate Vineyards here on Mount Veeder. All the flavors and tremendous complexity of this Chardonnay come from that extra “hanging” time. The nose is full and rich with nice vanilla overtones. Very intense, the wine is multi-dimensional and deep with many layers of flavors that are the expression of our terroir and winemaking finesse. Chateau Potelle Chardonnay VGS 2002 is phenomenal now and will continue to be for the next five to six years.

A beautiful floral nose that develops towards red berry, cherry and spicy notes. It is very easy to drink yet terrificly complex and interesting!

delicious, dry, versatile, Southern-French style rosé wine made by saigneé of Syrah and Zinfandel. Close your eyes and imagine yourself on the French Riviera. Riviera is a dry Rosé wine made by saigneé of Syrah and Zinfandel. We named after the French Riviera. On the coast of Southern France it is too warm in July and August to drink red wine. So the French drink Rosés. Chilled, very aromatic and dry, the Rosés are lighter than red wines but still offer a significant weight in the mouth. Marketta first began to make a Rosé for her and Jean-Noel's own Summer consumption, when entertaining guests and friends at their house or at the winery.

The uniqueness of this wine is in the process: it is made with free run juice exclusively. There is no pressed juice. When you press Sauvignon Blanc grapes, the herbal character of the skins becomes preeminent. The free run is the juice coming out of the grapes without pressing. This juice makes a wine that is light on the attack but becomes expansive and rich in the mouth. Our Sauvignon Blanc starts with grapefruit nuances and develops into melony and peach. The Semillon (10%) brings a note of roundness and riper flavors like fig. The barrel fermentation (40%) adds richness, depth and complexity.

Big,dark ripe fruit flavors with layers of smoke, cedar, leather and an earthy meatiness makes this wine hard to miss! INTENSE and dark, this is a wine you don't want to get on your clothes! Extremely small production, get yours while it lasts!

Rich,dense, round and ample. Loaded with fruit, this wine opens up nicely to ripe red raspberry flavors which is then accented nicely by a multi-layer of spices. It has a gorgeous long finish that speaks to the overall harmony and balance of this fine wine.

This 2002 Zinfandel VGS is ample, intense yet delicate and supple: beautifully balanced. It is seductively aromatic with ripe raspberry, sweet spices and notes of pepper. It has a lingering finish that melts seamlessly into fine layers of refined toasted oak and cedar smoke, supported by a soft tannin structure. This vineyard keeps giving year after year and our gentle, respectful winemaking techniques only emphasize the qualities.
