Zimmerman Vineyards

Zimmerman Vineyards Zimmerman Vineyards LLC opened its doors to the public on June 1, 2007 becoming Randolph County’s first commercial vineyard. While the wine is made off premises it is produced exclusively from grapes grown on site. The opening marked the culmination of a twenty-year quest to “live off the land” for Norm and Leslie and their family. The 102 acre track was purchased in June of 1987 with the mission to be out in the woods and become good stewards of the land.

  Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is a variety of red grape mainly used for wine production, and is, along with Chardonnay, one of the most widely-planted of the world's grape varieties. The principal grape in many Bordeaux wines, Cabernet Sauvignon is grown in most of the world's wine regions, although it requires a long growing season to ripen properly and gives low yields. The particularly thick skin of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape results in wines that can be high in tannin which provides both structure and age ability. As a group, Cabernet Sauvignon wines are generally full-flavored, with a smooth and lingering finish.
  Chardonnay Oaked
In the U.S., it is often made using full malolactic fermentation to soften the acidity and some oak handling. When aged with oak, Chardonnay can acquire a smokey, vanilla, caramel, and butter aroma.
  Chardonnay Unoaked
Stainless: Without oak, Chardonnay generally produces a soft wine, often with fruity flavors.
  Merlot
Merlot is a red wine grape that is used as both a blending grape and for varietal wines. Merlot-based wines usually have medium body with hints of berry, plum, and currant. Its softness and "fleshiness", combined with its earlier ripening, makes Merlot an ideal grape to blend with the sterner, later-ripening Cabernet Sauvignon. This flexibility has helped to make it one of the most popular red wine varietals in the United States and Chile.
