Quartz Rock Vineyard

Quartz Rock Vineyard New owners in January 2020, new name in 2022! It’s been 2 wild years since we purchased the farm and winery, and in that time we have worked to continue the tradition of high quality farming and winemaking here, while also making big changes to express our individual dreams. We thought the next important step was a name change, to really solidify our brand and our core mission and values. Our focus is on making high quality wines from high quality estate fruit; and sharing them in a welcoming and beautiful environment. Dan is also the winemaker, and we are enjoying trying some new things and experimenting with different fruit and techniques.

Directions
Finding Route 9W First. The key to finding us is Route 9W which runs north and south on the west side of the Hudson River: If you're coming from the east side of the Hudson River, you'll need to cross over to the west side via one of the bridges in our area: Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, Mid-Hudson Bridge, or Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge. Then get on 9W and go north or south accordingly. If you're starting on the west side of the Hudson, you can get to Route 9W from the north via I-87 (the NYS Thruway). Take the New Paltz exit, then Route 299 east to Route 9W south, and follow the directions below for "From the North". If you're coming to us from the south, you can take I-87 north. Take the Newburgh exit, then I-84 east to Exit 10 for Route 9W. Then follow the directions for "From the South." From the North: Drive south on Route 9W. Pass the entrance for the Mid-Hudson Bridge and continue south. You will go through three lights. At the third light, Stewart's Shops will be on your left. Continue three-quarters of a mile further. Turn right at the Ship Lantern Inn onto Old Indian Road. Drive a little less than three miles to the stop sign. Turn left onto Lattintown Road. Drive about one mile and turn right onto Mt. Zion Road. Go one mile and turn left onto Mountain Road. Drive down Mountain Road, and you'll see our sign on the right. From the South: Drive north on Route 9W. Once you've driven under I-84, you'll drive 1.8 miles, and at the fourth light turn left onto Carter Ave. (Stewart's Shop is on the left.) Drive to the end of Carter Ave. to the stop sign. Turn left onto Lattintown Road. Go just a stone's throw to another stop sign. Turm right; this is still Lattintown Road. Drive three miles to the stop sign at the intersection of Plattekill Road. Continue straight for one mile; turn left onto Reservoir Road. (Here, when you crest the first hill, look up on the mountain side, and you'll see our farm. The red roof on our big barn is easily spotted.) Drive one mile and

  Cayuga White
Semi-dry and fruity, this white wine is a proven crowd pleaser. Serve chilled with fish, chicken, or macaroni and cheese for dinner, or even with popcorn and a movie.
  Chardonnay
A light, European style with well-balanced acidity, tempered with a small addition of Seyval Blanc. Slightly oaked. Will complement meals such as grilled chicken or shrimp with basil pesto
  Daybreak Blush
Crisp and light with a slight sweetness that invites relaxation. Enjoy with your favorite summertime lunch after a dip in the pool. We recommend spicy chicken quesadillas.
  De Chaunac
Estate grown on Glorie Farms. Our close attention to perfect ripening and a little luck from Mother Nature make this a perfect example of how a good wine starts in the vineyard. Rich with berry fruit & cassis, this wine can be enjoyed now or cellared. Pairs well with beef tenderloin or swordfish.
  De Chaunac (Oaked)
A heartier, bolder version of De Chaunac, aged four months in new oak barrels. This wine was specifically designed for hearty winter meals and has excellent cellaring potential.

  Red Monkey
Silver Medal Winner 2005 Hudson Valley Wine and Grape Growers Association Wine Competition. A perfect marriage of Cabernet Sauvignon and our estate reds. This wine enjoyed four months in old French barrels and new American oak.Taste dark berry flavor in this medium-bodied wine. Great with a sauced pot roast or a seasoned flank steak.
  Red Quartet
A good starting point for the red wine novice; a nice break from the monster reds for the red wine expert. A semi-dry blend with pleasant fruit and acid, this wine appeals to a wide range of palates. Try it with your favorite barbequed meat, and you'll be hooked!
  Roseannadanna Rosé
Traveling the backstretches of Tuscany, we pulled over for a picnic with our Italian hosts: Fresh fruit, pungent cheese, and prosciutto set off by a brilliant rosé, an estate blend of Seyval Blanc and De Chaunac. Serve our rendition slightly chilled.
  Seyval Blanc
The proprietors' favorite wine. Estate grown with pride and vinified in the classic style, dry and crisp with notes of citrus, vanilla, and pepper. Rich in bouquet and full in the finish. Pair it with your next special dinner.
