Alec's Blend Napa Valley
This is Alec's best wine yet! The 2002 Alec's is a blend of 60% Syrah, 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and was first created in 1997 to celebrate the birth of Dennis' first son. The wine is simply delicious, packed with wild blackberry, candle wax, black pepper and sweet cedar aromas. A tasty core of ripe, jammy fruit is threaded with rustic, round tannins giving the wine terrific texture and mouth feel. 1,000 cases produced.

Chardonnay Barcaglia Lane Russian River Valley
The source for our Barcaglia Lane Chardonnay is a single rolling vineyard in the Russian River Valley. Developed for us by the Dutton Family in 1998, the site consists of 3 sloping blocks planted to three distinct clones - 15, Dijon, and Old Wente - which yield wonderfully ripe and complex fruit character. Though recent crop levels have been exceptionally low, these vines are generating fruit of increasing depth and intensity every year. The 2003 vintage was fermented with native yeasts, aged sur lies in 100% French oak, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Compelling aromas of toasty oak, integrated with orange peel and citrus blossom lead the way, followed by rich and at the same time crisp fruit flavors, nuanced with elements of exotic spice. Thickly textured, balanced and complex, the wine is absolutely delicious. 400 cases produced.

Merlot Napa Valley
Scarcely 200 cases of our 2002 Merlot were produced from a very low-yielding block on Pritchard Hill. Loaded with ripe plum, clove and sweet oak spice aromas, the wine is built on a frame of ripe fruit. Finely polished and wrapped in round tannins this Merlot is serious yet supple. 200 cases produced.

Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
From our extraordinary line-up of 2002 vintage red wines comes our star bottling of Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Consistent with the 2001 vintage, this wine is a seductive blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc, crafted from hillside vineyards in Oakville, Rutherford and Pritchard Hill. Powerful aromas of sweet oak and cedar spice soar from the glass, mingled with ripe blackberry, clove, and vanilla shadings. Off the line, the wine is packed with fruit and richly textured with an opulent core of blackberry and black plum, and essence of coffee bean. Mature tannins are firm yet supple, adding depth and weight to the wine as it powers toward a long and complex finish. 1,200 cases produced.

Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Our signature bottling of 2003 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a seductive blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Merlot, crafted from Pritchard Hill, Rutherford and Oakville hillside vineyards. The wine is deeply infused with seductive oak and heady spices, overlaying a core of currants and black plum fruit. Fleshy, rich and ripe on the palate, traces of cocoa and vanilla ride shotgun with supple tannins, driving the wine to a deliciously nuanced finish.

Reserve Chardonnay Napa Valley
You can count on one hand the number of barrels selected from the outstanding 2004 vintage for our flagship Reserve Chardonnay. From a production standpoint, the wine is a Mini Cooper; but in the glass it is clearly a Ferrari. One swirl shows all 12 cylinders firing with loads of showy stone-fruit and complex mineral, slate, hazelnut and oak spice aromas. Fermented with native yeasts, aged sur lies in 100% French oak, and bottled unfined and unfiltered, the wine is tremendously rich, with a broad power band and seamless integration of complex flavors that linger long after you lift off the accelerator.

Syrah Napa Valley
If wines were rated like movies we'd give our 2002 Syrah an "X". It's so good it's almost bad. Spectacular purple-black color erupts from the glass with blackberry, oak and vanilla spice aromas of volcanic intensity. The wine is massive, saturated with black fruit and shadings of coffee, with a broad band of mature tannins. Voluptuous, powerful and provocative, this Syrah is a feature-length seduction. Crafted from Syrah vines near the 1,500' summit of Pritchard Hill. 250 cases produced.
