Rated Outstanding by Stephen Tanzer. Cabernet Sauvignon with 10% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot, bright medium ruby. Burnished aromas of cassis, licorice, mocha and menthol. Sweet, sexy, creamy wine, with a mid-palate lushness I've never before found in a wine from this estate. And yet this very generous blend has terrific spine and inner-mouth aromatic character. The tannins spread out to cover the entire palate. Very chewy, dense, ageworthy wine-a superb example of this appellation. The label says 13.9% alcohol, but this is actually 14.5%.
