Description:
Quivira’s Fig Tree Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc represents a true taste of place. Our estate vineyard, now Biodynamically® certified, is located between Quivira’s two waterways Dry Creek and Wine Creek and takes its name from a majestic old mission fig tree that stands amongst the Sauvignon Blanc vines. The soil has an extensive gravel layer, due to its proximity to the creeks, that produces a well-drained site yielding grapes with a uniquely Quivira flavor profile. A drop of sunshine in a glass, our vintage continues the Quivira tradition of added Semillon and French oak aging. Bright and vibrant, with aromas of grapefruit, melon, and citrus. The subtle lime minerality, exemplified in the cool riverbed stones along Wine Creek, adds a sparkling crispness to the abundant fruit flavors, while the Musqué clone (2%) contributes a touch of pineapple. A wonderfully complex yet totally quaffable wine.
