Proprietor's Red

Proprietor's Red Wine Details
Price: $8.99 per bottle

Description: A blend of Marechal Foch and Noiret with a few surprises. A light, soft and fruity wine with an aroma of strawberries and lively fruit flavors. A nice summer red for the picnic or the boat.

Varietal Definition
Noiret:
Noiret is the result of a cross between hybrids NY65.0467.08 and Steuben in 1973. It ripens mid-season, and according to Reisch, its wines "are free of the hybrid aromas typical of many other red hybrid grapes. The distinctive red wine is richly colored and has notes of green and black pepper, with raspberry and mint aromas, and a fine tannin structure."
Marechal Foch:
A french-american hybrid grape, with french Alsace Gamay origins, noted for producing deeply colored and strongly varietal wines considered by some to have a "Burgundian" character. Also known under the name Foch.
