Description:
Our Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a mountain vineyard approximately 1,000 feet above the valley floor. The location of this vineyard allows the fruit to hang on the vine for an extremely long time. Longer hang time allows the fruit to ripen slowly producing flavorful fruit that is great to work with. This wine has become what we affectionately called the “big dog.” 'Bold, rich and yummy' easily describe this complex Cabernet. The subtle must of forest floor lures us into rich aromas of black cherry and currant framed by delicate brown sugar before exploding with plum, cedar and cigar box on the palette. Rich black cherry and light cassis slowly dissipate leaving firm oak tannins accentuated by sage and leather as thyme marches on through a lengthy finish. The Murray Ranch Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon can easily age in the cellar for twenty years from the vintage; the only dilemma is keeping you and your loved ones from drinking this seductive wine before that precious peak time. Just remember, you can never have too much of a great thing.
