Bugay Vineyards Syrah

Bugay Vineyards Syrah Wine Details
Price: $49.00 per bottle

Description: This classic Syrah is comprised of 100% Bugay Vineyards estate fruit. The vines are grown in decomposed, volcanic soils, which we believe impart a sensual earthiness. This wine is a blend from fruit grown on 4 premium Syrah clones. The aromas are extraordinary and reflect the black plum, mocha, bacon and spicy cardamom characteristics found in this wine. Aged for 20 months in new, Louis Latour, French oak barrels, this wine will continue to mellow and become even more delicious with proper cellaring. The combination of bright fruit, spice, and mineral flavors found in this wine pair deliciously with lamb, game dishes and hearty stews.

Varietal Definition
Syrah:
Syrah is the eight hundred pound gorilla of Rhone grapes! In the vineyard and the winery, Syrah is typically an easy grape to work with - healthy, early ripening, resistant to mildew and rot; suitable for winemaking in a variety of styles. The wines from Syrah are tannic without being harsh. The wines will have a taste and smell of dark blue fruit like blackberries and blackcurrant, with a strong spicy side where one can find freshly ground pepper and other spices. Syrah is famous for its part in the French blends, such as Côtes du Rhone and Châteauneuf du Pape.
