CHAMBOURCIN

CHAMBOURCIN Wine Details
Price: $10.00 per bottle

Description: This variety of grape is another French/American hybrid whose parents can be traced back to Burgundy. Breed to be a cold and disease tolerant version of Pinot noir this is one of the premier hybrids grown on the east cost. It is used for everything from light Beaujolais style wines to very heavy burgundy style reds. Ours varies with vintage but is usually a little fruitier and fuller bodied than a Pinot noir. It pairs well with red meats and game as well as heavy pasta.

Varietal Definition
Chambourcin:
A french-american hybrid used to make red wines with fruity flavors and some herbaceousness. Grown in the cooler regions of Eastern U.S. and Canada. Decreasing acreages also found in Europe; due to stringent European Union rules these varieties cannot be blended with traditional varieties.
