Pinot Gris

Pinot Gris Wine Details
Price: $12.00 per bottle

Description: The grapes were hand sorted before filling the press with whole clusters. After settling and racking, the free run juice was inoculated with yeast and fermented in stainless steel tanks, then aged on its lees for five months. We preserved the freshness of this wine and the full expression of the varietal characteristics by forgoing malolactic fermentation and barrel aging. With a light straw color, this Pinot Gris displays a bright fruity nose with aromas of lemon zest, green apple and spicy, mineral nuances. The rich, almost mouth-coating palate is layered with fresh-fruit flavors of citrus, pear and melon. Grapefruit and white pepper notes give a twist to the finish. Lively acidity and pleasant fruitiness make it an excellent match with food and a great alternative to Chardonnay.

Varietal Definition
Pinot Grigio/Gris:
Pinkish-white variety producing a very crisp white wine. Grown in Oregon, the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, and more and more in California, it shows promise for other cool climates. Also known as Tokay d'Alsace in France, Rulander in Germany, and Pinot Grigio in Italy.
