Description:
2004 Silver Medal from the Indy International Wine Competition, 2005 Bronze Medal from International Eastern Wine Competition. A sweet, red blend of Concord and other estate-grown grapes makes Raven Rouge a delightful wine for those who prefer the "grapey" aroma of the American Concord. Those just beginning to explore the wine culture, often start with a wine such as this. Raven Rouge is enjoyed with most cheeses, spicy Mexican dishes, and always with good friends.

Varietal Definition
Concord:
This native American grape varietal (of the genus vitis labrusca) is used in making old- fashioned, "rustic" country-style red wines, often displaying what most people think of as a "grape jelly aroma." In fact, the Concord is widely used in the production of jellies and jams. This East Coast varietal produces wines that have been variously described as foxy, meaning they have a unique aroma/flavor profile variously described as wild and musky. Mogen David is perhaps the quintessential Concord wine.
