Description:
The 2002 vintage from Reynolds Family Winery benefited from a long dry season of warm days and cool nights, giving the fruit a perfect balance of energy and rest. Our low yield vineyard practices,(at 2-1/2 tons per acre), continually ensure beautifully dark fruit with mature developed tannins. The Estate Select Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from grapes that are exclusively grown on the 10 acre estate vineyard. The winemaking techniques include tank fermentation with rack and return in combination with the gentle treatment of the fruit which is inherent to small bin fermentation, three daily hand punch down of caps and gentle bladder pressing. The blend of two Bordeaux Cabernet clones, 337 & 4, the Wiemer clone and Cab Franc clone 5 create an intense deep color and dark fruit aromas such as black currant, tobacco and spice.
