Description:
These grapes were harvested from our Seneca Lake Vineyards at the peak of maturity just before the rains started in early October of 2000. These vines are over 30 years old and produce small yields giving more intense flavor to the grapes.
This Chardonnay was fermented in French and American Oak Barrels, underwent a partial ML fermentation and the yeast were stirred weekly for 6 months to build richness and complexity. The wine was aged for a total of 8 months before bottling.
This wine shows vibrant tropical fruit aromas with subtle tasty oak flavors. It goes well with grilled swordfish or rosemary chicken and matched perfectly with Fettuccine in an Alfredo sauce with roasted red peppers.
