Description: Seaway News, Cornwall, ON June 18, 2004 ""Inniskillin Pinot Gris 2002 is another single vineyard selection from The Wine Rack, this time the Montague Estates Vineyard. Pinot Gris is an often-overlooked varietal that is deserving of a higher profile. This wine, with rich flavours and a wonderful finish, shows Pinot Gris as its best and should win over a few more fans. I have always loved the Pinot Gris nose and this is no exception with complex melon, pear and tropical fruit and just a hint of pepper. Bright citrus, cantaloupe, and pear fruit are underlain with just a hint of banana and anise. The anise gives the wine a pleasant spiced quality on the finish. A racy acidity balances and enhances the fruit. The finish is "crisp and invigorating, perfect for summer enjoyment. Overall it is a wonderfully balanced, medium full-bodied wine. Inniskillin Pinot Gris would make a splendid summer aperitif, sure to delight guests. As a partner for food, it will shine with roast or grilled vegetables, barbecued chicken, salmon and spicy grilled shrimp.

Varietal Definition
