Description:
Pinot Meunier grapes from the Okanagan gave winemaker Tilman Hainle a good opportunity to work with this versatile, Pinot Noir-like variety. Soft, earthy and cherry characteristics show prominently in this vintage, followed by a full body and good tannin structure. The sunny and warm 2002 growing season gives this wine round and mouth-filling flavours. The aromas and flavours of this wine are characterized by earthy, cherry and tobacco notes. As a cousin of the Pinot Noir, it matches very nicely with poultry, pork and salmon, and many Asian dishes. This wine is drinking very well now, and it should cellar until at least 2010.
