American Ranier Rosé

American Ranier Rosé Wine Details
Price: $8.95 per bottle

Description: Tomasello Ranier Rosé is a moderately sweet rosé wine with the taste of freshly picked grapes. Made primarily from the Native American grape known as the Catawba, the fruity, intense character of the Catawba is also well-suited as a dessert wine beyond the table. It is perfect with poultry, semi-soft cheeses or slightly spicy dishes. Made for over 78 years at our family’s vineyard, it enjoys a very loyal following that continues to grow everyday! For the sweeter palette, it is of medium intensity of sweetness of the Ranier wines

Varietal Definition
Catawba:
This was perhaps the earliest discovered native American grape, growing wild in Ohio and New York valleys, but it has since been surpassed by the Concord as the most widely planted native East Coast grape varietal. It primarily is used to make off-dry or sweet red wines, with a pronounced foxy (a unique aroma/flavor profile variously described as wild and musky) labrusca flavor. A number of producers also utilize this grape to make sparkling wine.
