2001 Marechal Foch

2001 Reserve Marechal Foch Wine Details
Price: $39.99 per bottle

Description: Gold medal winner at the 2003 International Taster's Guild Competition and the 2003 Canadian Wine Awards. This double Gold Medal award-winning dry red wine was made from only the best Marechal Foch grapes grown in our vineyards in Malagash, Nova Scotia during the summer and fall of 2001. Aged in French oak barrels, this wine has oaky berry and bell pepper characters on a good tannin backbone leading to great overall balance and length. This wine has exceptional aging potential and pairs well with many fine cheeses and red meat dishes. Notice: Some colour sediment may form.

Varietal Definition
Marechal Foch:
A french-american hybrid grape, with french Alsace Gamay origins, noted for producing deeply colored and strongly varietal wines considered by some to have a "Burgundian" character. Also known under the name Foch.
