Nebbiolo, the great black grape variety produces a most distinctive and distinguished wine. The name, Nebbiolo, is a derivation of nebbia, or fog, a frequent phenomenon in the Piedmont of Italy in October when the Nebbiolo grape is harvested. Nebbiolo grown by Horton in the Piedmont of Virginia produces a delightful aromatic complexity and fullness of flavor which balances the acidity and soft tannins.
