Description:
Our premium reserve Chardonnay is made up entirely from our own River Lane Vineyards. Two blocks from our Alexander Valley Estate vineyard along the Russian River made up 50% of the grapes. The remaining grapes come from the Dry Creek Valley Estate vineyard. The rich river bed soils from Alexander Valley and the sandy loam from Dry Creek contribute to the unique-ness and quality of this special release.
The 2001 Winemaker's Select Chardonnay is full bodied with vanilla and sandalwood in the nose, followed by flavors of green apple, pear, and bright citrus. This Chardonnay exhibits good acidity with a creamy, buttery, lingering finish. The wine, showing beautifully now, has great complexity due to the prolonged contact with the lees. It will continue to develop nicely.
