Blues Cuvee - Santa Barbara County

Blues Cuvee - Santa Barbara County Wine Details
Price: $25.00 per bottle

Description: The wine’s aromas can be described as a combination of black licorice, black cherries and red currants. On the palate the wine is medium to full bodied with medium tannins. The flavors are of cherries, toasted oak and a hint of sweet vanillin in the finish. The acidity is fairly firm for a wine of this weight, indicating that this wine will age for eight to ten years or more. I believe those of you familiar with our previous Blues Cuvee will notice the extra layer of complexity contributed by the addition of Malbec.

Varietal Definition
Originating from the Bordeaux region of France, this grape is among the "big six" for red wine grapes. Malbec is typically a medium to full-bodied red wine. Ripe fruit flavors of plums and blackberry give it a jammy characteristic. The tannins are typically a bit tight and the earthy, wood-like appeal makes for a fairly rustic wine. Malbec goes well with roast meats such as chicken or turkey. It should be served at 58F and can be aged for up to 5 years typically.
