Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley

Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley Wine Details
Price: $17.00 per bottle

Description: Hall is proud to introduce an ultra-radiant Sauvignon Blanc from the 2003 vintage in Napa Valley. 100% Sauvignon Blanc chosen primarily from a single vineyard near Yountville, this wine is marked by gorgeous aromatics of pink grapefruit, lemon peel, bright lime and crisp, stony minerality. Refreshingly light and nimble, the wine gains a bit of weight on the mid-palate, delivering a body of lush, nearly tropical fruit flavors for a long, satisfying finish. The racy acidity provides the perfect foil for a number of summertime dishes, though ideally this wine is best served alongside the season’s finest simmering sea creatures. Entirely enjoyable out on the deck, on the beach or by the pool, this is the perfect sipping wine to see you through the long, lazy days of Summer.

Varietal Definition
Sauvignon Blanc:
Sauvignon Blanc is widely grown in California — at over 15,000 acres, it’s now the third most planted variety — and often assumes the moniker ‘Fume Blanc’. This popular synonym, credited to Napa’s Robert Mondavi, derives from the grape’s historic home of Pouilly in France’s Upper Loire Valley, where Sauvignon Blanc is the dominant varietal and goes locally by the name of ‘Blanc Fumé’. When treated with respect and afforded suitable growing conditions, Sauvignon Blanc is one of the wine world’s darlings. Steely, racy acidity, green, gooseberry fruit, asparagus and a grassy, herbaceous character characterize dry wines made from this grape.
