Grignolino

Grignolino Wine Details
Price:

Description: We inherited our Grignolino (pronounced green-no-lean-o) vines when we purchased the winery forty-three years ago and have always loved producing this light, playful wine. The invigorating floral aroma hints at sweetness, but the taste is surprisingly dry. Originating in the Piedmont region of northern Italy, this zesty varietal is a particularly good companion for spicy foods. Bring it slightly chilled on your next picnic.

Varietal Definition
Grignolino:
Indigenous to Italy’s Piedmont region, Grignolino is only a minor grape in its homeland, where it makes light red wines with characteristic herbaceous and floral aromas. Less than 50 acres of Grignolino exist in California, where only a small number of wineries utilize this variety. In the Golden State, the most recognized Grignolino is the rosé long made by Heitz Wine Cellars.
