The alluvial soils in Beringer's Knights Valley Vineyard, which give this wine its name, are one important contributor to the distinctive character of the grapes grown there. Five classic red Bordeaux varietals are used to create this wine-Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec.
