Chenin Blanc

Chenin Blanc Wine Details
Price:

Description: Another classic Clarksburg Chenin Blanc vintage is here to enjoy! Fragrant with notes of flowering honeysuckle and orange blossoms, this aromatic sipper will give you spring fever! Round mouthfuls of honeydew and cantaloupe melons give this wine some weight, though it remains crisp and refreshing. The fruit basket in your glass includes green apples and pineapples as well as a touch of apricot to lace the finish with softness. Good, bright acid will allow the wine to pair well with cheeses, spicy Asian foods or other light fare

Varietal Definition
Chenin Blanc:
Classic white varietal of France's Loire Valley and now grown throughout the world. Known for its rather unusual 'wet-wool', 'damp straw' aromas, it tends to be more floral than fruity when young and gives high acidity, growing well in marginal climates. It ages well and its susceptibility to 'botrytis'* produces some of the great sweet wines of the Loire, for example Quarts de Chaume and Vouvray. It is grown widely in South Africa where it is known as 'Steen'.
