Brenda's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Brenda's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Details
Price:

Description: Named for my wife, Brenda, this Estate-grown, Stags Leap District wine represents our purest expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. Our exceptional vineyard is reflected in this wine's tremendous depth, richness and character. Brenda's Vineyard is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and the appearance is a deep ruby color with a reddish purple ring. The aroma has black cherries, figs, dark rich chocolate, cedar and oak. On the palate, this wine explodes with rich, concentrated flavors and layers of texture. Firm tannins are balanced with fine acidity and the elegant finish is long and satisfying. Its finesse and power are extremely well-balanced, creating a wine that is a pleasure to drink now, or in 5 to 10 years. Production limited to 100 cases.

Varietal Definition
Cabernet Sauvignon:
Cabernet Sauvignon is the most widely planted and significant among the five dominant varieties in France’s Bordeaux region, as well as the most successful red wine produced in California. Though it was thought to be an ancient variety, recent genetic studies at U.C. Davis have determined that Cabernet Sauvignon is actually the hybrid offspring of Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon berries are small with black, thick and very tough skin. This toughness makes the grapes fairly resistant to disease and spoilage and able to withstand some autumn rains with little or no damage. It is a mid to late season ripener. These growth characteristics, along with its flavor appeal have made Cabernet Sauvignon one of the most popular red wine varieties worldwide.
