Bear Creek Winery

Bear Creek Winery Bear Creek is the home of one of the oldest vineyards in Oregon, the former Siskiyou Vineyards Winery, and was planted in 1969 with Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Gew├╝rztraminer. These wines are again available under the Siskiyou Vineyard label. The first wines produced under the Bear Creek label include unique Bordeaux varietals.

  Cabernet Sauvignon, Lot #100
Dark rich and chocolaty with flavors of black cherry, currant and spice. This wine unfolds to an elegant finish that shows notes of tobacco and toasty oak. Only 94 cases were produced of this signature cabernet. Hence every bottle is signed by the winemaker.
  Cabernet Sauvignon, Rogue Valley
The grapes for this wine come from the Applegate Valley. The wine was barrel aged for 20 month and bottled unfiltered. This Cabernet Sauvignon is dark in color with layers of black cherry, currant and spice. This wine shows leathery, earthy components. 273 cases produced.
  Chardonnay, Dijon Clone
The fruit source for this Chardonnay is located in the Illinois Valley. Its cooler climate produced a wine with a rich, creamy texture, fruit flavors (like pear and peach), and also some honey and vanilla notes on the finish. Lees stirring took place for the first three months after barrel fermentation then the wine was aged in French oak for 14 months. 271 cases produced.
  Merlot, Applegate
Southern Oregon's Applegate Valley benefits from warm summer days with coastal winds from the Pacific which help to moderate its climate. This wine was aged in French oak barrels of which 30% were new, 20% one year old, and 50% neutral. This Merlot has ripe berry flavor of blueberry and cherry which lead to spicy notes with some oak in the background. 317 cases produced.
  Merlot, Rogue Valley
Dark and extracted this wine shows flavors of currant and blackberries with some spice notes and toasty oak on the finish.
  Pinot Noir
The grapes for this wine all come from the Illinois Valley. The wine is fermented in small lots, which are punched down by hand to gently extract the flavors for this rich, warm Pinot Noir. The wine was aged for 18 months in one year old French oak, and was bottled unfiltered. This Pinot Noir shows ripe and complex flavors of plum and black cherry (with some currant), and spicy components. Supple texture and a good tannin structure make this wine great for consumption now, but also promises excellent aging potential. 189 cases produced.
  Pinot Noir
This Pinot Noir shows a rich ruby color, has dark fruit aromas of cherry and blackberry with a hint of cassis. The warm mouthfeel is round and chewy and finishes with mounds of toasty wood. The wine was bottled unfiltered. 89 Points Wine Enthusiast Magazine
  Sauvignon Blanc, Rogue Valley
The grapes for this wine were grown near Medford, in the Rogue Valley. The wine was barrel fermented, and aged in 100% new French oak. The wine shows some spicy vanilla notes, and flavors of grapefruit, apple and pear, with a nice crisp finish. 447 cases produced.
