Potomac Highland Winery

Potomac Highland Winery Potomac Highland Winery was founded in 1992 by Dr. Charles Whitehill and is located in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. The region's terrain provides an idyllic setting as well as an advantageous micro-climate for grape growing. Known for producing fine table wines, Dr. Whitehill and his wife Becky still oversee every aspect of production— from the harvesting of the grapes to the final bottling of the wine. The result of their labors has been award winning wines of remarkable consistency that have won the praise of both the public and fellow winemakers.

From Keyser, WV, take Rt. 46 East for 3.8 miles, turn right on Knobley Road for .8 mile, bear left on Fountain-Headsville Road for 1.2 miles, turn right on Fried Meat Ridge Road for 1.5 miles and look for vineyard and sign on left. From Burlington, take Dry Run Road (1 mile West of Burlington on Rt. 50) for 1.8 miles, bear right on Fried Meat Ridge Road for 2.9 miles, watch for vineyard and sign on right.

Made from one of the leading red French hybrid grapes in the United States,it produces a full-bodied, robust red wine with much depth of character and richness of texture. Oak aged.
This red wine is made from one of the older standard French hybrids vinified in a full-bodied, slightly sweet style, with nice texture and aroma. Oak aged.
Made from the world famous premier White Vinifera wine grape, it is crisp, dry, and smooth, with oak aging.
Introduced in 1995, a medium-bodied, dry wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. It has much depth of character, firm structure, and hearty aftertaste. Oak aged.
  Pinot Noir
A light-bodied red wine made from the classic Burgundian Vinifera grape which can be aged for some time but which is very satisfactory for drinking after one year. It has a light, tannic structure and berry flavors. Oak aged.
This wine from the classic Vinifera grape is fermented in stainless steel and finished somewhat sweet in the Germanic style. It is crisp with good depth of flavor and aroma.
  Seyval Blanc
Made from one of the leading French hybrid grapes in the United States, it produces a robust, full-bodied, off-dry wine which is further enhanced by oak aging.
  Seyval Blush
A sweeter version of the White Seyval with a bit of red wine blended in for color and taste. The result is a light, semi-sweet wine, ideal for sipping or with light foods.
