Pahlmeyer Winery

Pahlmeyer Winery Our mission is to produce wines with power and personality. Our strict viticultural regime combined with a risky but rewarding approach to winemaking creates wines having extravagant, concentrated fruit, polish and pizzazz. The dedication of Jayson Pahlmeyer, the commitment of our grape growers, and the talent of our winemaker Erin Green have converged to produce among the finest Bordeaux-style red wine, Merlot and Chardonnay anywhere. Pahlmeyer thus proudly contributes to the continual advancement of winemaking and viticulture in Napa Valley.

  Jayson Chardonnay
The 2004 Jayson Chardonnay offers aromas of orange blossom, Meyer lemon and honeyed notes. The palate provides citrus, orange blossom and biscotti flavors that finish with crisp minerality on the finish.
  Jayson Red
The 2003 Jayson is a "declassification" of the wine originally intended for the Merlot and the Proprietary Red. We do not grow or seek out fruit in order to produce wine for the Jayson label. The 2003 Jayson Red was harvested and vinified in the same manner as the Proprietary Red and the Merlot; the whole berry fruit was from hand picked lots and fermented in short, open-topped stainless steel tanks and cold soaked, using native yeasts. The wine then continued fermentation in 100% new French oak barrels and was bottled neither fined nor filtered. 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec
  Pahlmeyer Merlot
Comprised of 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2002 vintage Merlot is another gloriously rich, profuse elixir in the classic Pahlmeyer style. Within a structure similar to a French Pomerol, lies a classic California concentration of ripe, rich fruit.
  Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Chardonnay
The chardonnay in the 2003 vintage was harvested fairly late compared to the 2002 vintage. Our 2003 Napa Chardonnay is rich, complex and extractive with a nice balance. Lots of pineapples and citrus oils are combined with some minerality. The extended hang time produced a wine of great depth and richness which represents all of Pahlmeyer's efforts in making a world class Chardonnay.
  Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red
Harvested by the end of October from hand picked lots, the whole berries were fermented in short open-topped stainless steel tanks, cold soaked and using native yeasts. The wine then continued through malolactic fermentation in 100% new French oak barrels for 18 months and was bottled neither fined nor filtered.
