Manchego Real

Manchego Real The Cervantes Vineyards lie in the prestigious Roza Berge vineyard region of the Yakima Valley, the oldest appellation in Washington State, which boasts fertile soil and perfect weather conditions for growing superior quality vinifera fruit used to produce premium wines. The Cervantes family, relying on expertise and time proven techniques gained from over 25 years of farming experience, has earned a reputation for cultivating quality fruit typical of the Roza Berge region. Cervantes Vineyards produces a wide rage of varieties, which are marketed under its “Manchego Real” label. High quality Riesling and Gewürztraminer are among the white creations, with the 2001 and 2002 vintages each receiving bronze medals in the company’s entries at the 2002 and 2003 Tri-Cities Wine Festivals. A wonderful late harvest dessert wine is also crafted from its Gewürztraminer plantings. The feature red varietals are Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Merlot, which are produced from the fruit of the unique Jones Vineyards of Mattawa, Washington, where long growing seasons produce exceptional grape quality. Other varietals currently produced from estate soil in the Roza Berge region include Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc. Plans are currently underway to open impressive winemaking and related facilities on company property located just south of I-82 and Exit 69 in Sunnyside, Washington. These facilities, which as planned will cover approximately 30 acres, will consist of a one-of-a-kind production plant, as well as a Spanish style tasting room, gift shop, wine storage caverns and serene ponds. Surrounded by vineyards and intermixed with a unique collection of windmills, the facility will be designed and styled to grace the landscape in the spirit of Manchego Real!
