Fox Valley Winery

The Fox Valley Winery has three tasting rooms. Our full service winery and tasting room is located on Route 34 in Oswego Illinois . It hosts a private tasting room, an additional sitting area, two fireplaces a full retail store and tours of the winemaking facility on weekends Our other two tasting rooms are in Sandwich , Illinois , at 120 South Main Street , 1/2 block north of the intersection of US Rt. 34. We are located in a 120 year old double walled, masonry building. This building was originally built to store blocks of ice cut from the Somonauk Creek, which lies just west of the town of Sandwich . Area residents were able to purchase these large blocks of ice for use in their "ice box" refrigerators commonly used in all area homes before the turn of the 20th century. This two store front location, offers great shopping, a sitting area, and a comfortable surrounding and tasting area. The Geneva location is three store fronts with a lounge area that is separated from the main room. It is a comfortable and relaxing place to enjoy a glass of wine with friends. Tasting is offered daily at all three locations and there is always a helpful and friendly staff to answer any question. Fox Valley Winery specializes in creating small lots of hand crafted award winning wines, many made from the estate grown, single vineyard Illinois grapes. The Faltz family prides themselves on the quality of the grapes brought in and the wine produced. Fall of 2006 will mark the 4th harvest of grapes from the Faltz Family Vineyards, located 9 miles south of our Sandwich Tasting Room. The Vineyard, now 6 years old, presently encompasses 26 acres, and is situated on the south-facing rocky ridges of the Fox River Valley . Vineyard events are held on the vineyard twice a summer.
