Rustico Farm & Cellars

Rustico Farm & Cellars In midsummer 2007, I discovered an ideal setting for our Rustico Farm & Cellars estate winery in the South Okanagan, on the acclaimed Golden Mile between Oliver (Wine Capital of Canada) and Osoyoos on the U.S. border. Located on a gently sloping hill facing south-east, with mountainsides to the immediate south and west behind us, the Rustico vineyards capture the first magical rays of early morning sun and never let them go until much later in the day. Our property is relatively small in comparison to many of our internationally recognized neighbors but certainly we can hold our own when it comes to uniqueness and grape-growing terroir.

Access to the winery: off Highway 97 between Oliver and Osoyoos take Road 16 on west side to 123rd St., left turn to Rustico sign. (approx. distance from corner of Hwy 97 is 0.4 kms.) If you're visiting the South Okanagan area we're approximately 12 kms. north of Osoyoos (at the U.S. border) and 6 kms. south of Oliver, Wine Capital of Canada. Contact us: 250-498-3276

  Franco d'Asolo Merlot VQA
Deeply ruby red, our Franco d'Asolo Merlot VQA, is made from select Okanagan grown Merlot grapes. With a vinous, intense characteristic bouquet that becomes delicate, ethereal and pleasant with maturity you'll enjoy bright fruit flavors well-integrated with a full-bodied and most savoury taste. Just slightly herbaceous and properly tannic and balanced, Franco d'Asolo is a perfect complement to richly-sauced pastas, roasted or grilled red meats, wild game and more mature, hard cheeses. A glass before your next Bocce game, during or just following the match with a side plate of prosciutto, carpaccio and maybe a slice of two of sopressata with a handful of olives is magnifico!
  Isabella‚Äôs Poke
As the story goes, Isabella with her Scottish brogue and perfect Golden Mile-wide smile, became an overnight sensation with the miners and wranglers in Fairview, the mining townsite above present-day Oliver. Like our Pinot Gris, she tinkled the ivories with a light fruity air and her freckled nose hinted of pear, vanilla, the skin of new peaches and a little honeysuckle. We know all about that pleasant mouthfeel.
