Cabernet Franc
This Cabernet Franc has a lovely delicate ruby red color typical of great Sierra Foothills Cabernet Franc. On the nose one picks up a delicious balance of red apples, and herbs with underscores of raspberries, vanilla and anise with hints of oak. The mouth feel is silky and smooth with flavors of black cherry, chocolate and hints of raspberry with a long velvety finish.
|
Cabernet Sauvignon
Shallow well drained soils and low yields in the vineyard have produced a seductively dark purple color in this wine. Classic Cabernet Sauvignon aromas abound with delicious deep plum, chocolate and spices. Subtle aromas of anise and cassis linger in the background with hints of oak. The mouth filling flavors are consistent with the aromas. Exciting flavors of black cherries and chocolate balance with the tannins and acidity to produce a food friendly wine with a long smooth finish.

Sangiovese
Grown on well drained soil on a south west slope, this wine has the deep dark ruby color reminiscent of the great Brunellos of Tuscany. Big fruit aromas fill the nose with layers of cherries, spice and dark chocolate balanced with light aromas of oak. All these aromas show up in a mouthful that is big and rich with a lingering finish of cherry flavors and deep rich oak.

Syrah
Shallow rocky mountain soils, long sunny days and cool nights have created this intense ruby red Syrah. An explosion of aromas of plums and dark berry fruit fill the nose followed by hints of oak vanilla and white pepper spice. Palate entry is soft and round with lovely flavors of blackberries and ripe plums. These flavors carry through to the mid and back palate with a lingering mouth finish of ripe berry fruit and hints of oak.
|
Viognier
This lovely dry pale straw colored Viognier bursts with classic aromas of peach and dried apricot typical of the varietal, followed by floral overtones and hints of citrus orange peel. The mouth feel is soft and silky showing typical Viognier fruit character of peach and apricot. These flavors are well balanced with a soft creamy mid palate that carries to the back and has a lingering long finish of fresh fruit and floral notes.
