Fitzpatrick Winery Fitzpatrick Winery and Lodge is located in the Fair Play AVA (American Viticultural Area) at the heart of the California's Gold Country, in the beautiful and idyllic Sierra Foothills of El Dorado county, nearby historic Placerville. We feature fine hand crafted wines made from organically grown premium wine grapes and a unique Irish Bed & Breakfast. Almost 30 years in Fair Play, we opened Fair Play's first winery in 1980. Now in our third decade we've embarked on a new campaign with great passion to take our wine quality to its highest level. New investments in equipment, the finest oak cooperage, ongoing outside critique and consultation by an award winning master winemaker. Beginning each year with pruning each vine myself, I am committed to making the finest wines reflecting our vineyards' most unique terroir. Come uncork the magic of Fitzpatrick premium wines.

Directions
From Sacramento via Placerville: Take Hwy 50 East toward Placerville. Exit at Missouri Flat Road. Turn right onto Missouri Flat road and go to end (approx. 2 miles); at light turn left onto Pleasant Valley Road. Go 5+ miles (east) on Pleasant Valley Road then right at the Y onto Buck's Bar Road. Take Bucks Bar Road 5+ miles to the 4-way stop sign at Somerset corner; turn right onto Mt. Aukum Road. Go 2 miles (west) on Mt. Aukum Road to Gray's Corner then turn left onto Fairplay Road (you're in Fairplay wine country) and look for winery signs. From South Lake Tahoe: Take Hwy 50 West to Pollock Pines. Exit at Sly Park Road. Turn Left onto Sly Park Road and go about 16 miles to Pleasant Valley. Make a Left onto Mt. Aukum Road (at Holiday Market) and go 6+ miles (through the stop sign at Somerset) to Gray's Corner. Turn Left onto Fairplay Road and look for winery signs.

  Cab / Shiraz
Applying an Aussie tradition, I created a Estate blend of organically Grown 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Shiraz (Syrah) where the rich dark black cherry flavors of Shiraz take our Cab to new exciting heights.
  Celtic Cider
Organically grown Gravenstein apples grown near Sebastapol along the Sonoma coast are dry farmed and intensely flavored and super ripe when harvested. Fermented slow and cold. just before bottling Star Thistle honey is added and the cider is filtered. Enjoy with or without food.
  Eire Ban
Estate grown sauvignon blanc picked at the peak of golden ripeness then cold fermented. The very unique warm pear flavors and richness pair nicely with creamy pasta, seafood and a variety of cheeses
  Estate Syrah
From a line of medal winners, every vintage from this unique estate vineyard shows its stuff and bags numerous awards. For you the rewards are in the bottle. Get yours before its gone.
  Estate Zinfandel
A great follow-up vintage to the Grand award winning 2001. Rich jammy berries, lingering flavors and mouthfeel with the elegant backdrop of spice and oak.
  Grenache
Our certified Organically grown Grenache is always a winner. With Golds, Silvers and Bronzes for previous vintages, this new release has garnered Silvers and Bronzes already. Estate grown and sporting the new AVA ' Fair Play' on its label. A rare example of the true depth of this Southern Rhone grape. With yields of only 1 ton per acre that vintage, it's no wonder the intense fruit and spice sets this grenache apart from all others.
  King's Red X
The X tenth blend in a series of multiple vintage blends descended from Irish Kings. This bottle is a organically grown blend of four Zinfandels from three vintages plus Sangiovese and a wee bit of Nebbiollo and Merlot.
  King's Red XI
The XI ia the most unique blend yet. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Sangioveses, Zinfandel, Merlot and a tiny bit of Syrah and grenache.

  Queen's Gold
A new blend of 92% Estate Sauvignon Blanc cold fermented blended with 8% barrel fermented Estate Chardonnay to soften an otherwise crisp dry fruity white. A big new favorite at the tasting room
  Reserve Barrel Select Chardonnay
2002 Reserve Barrel Select Chardonnay is estate grown, barrel fermented and aged in Marsannay French oak barrels. Very distinctive, toasty, mild buttery, vanilla notes, long finish. Of course CCOF certified organically grown and produced.
  Robert Cowan Shenandoah Valley Zinfandel
A classic Amador County Zin from the Robert Cowan Vineyard. Incredible griary flavor, black pepper and clove spice set in an elegant medium body.
  Sangre de Montana
Americans don't think of rose wines as dry but they certainly do in France. I crushed both our Estate Syrah and Cinsault grapes together and let them begin to ferment on the skins to extract the richness of these Rhone reds. But only after less than two full days I quickly pressed the fermenting juice away from the red skins so not to get the tannins and other rougher components of a red wine. This Rhose captures the essence of these Rhone grape classics. Very important to serve this rose just slightly cooler than room temperature (not cold) and pair with savory (not sweet) dishes for maximum enjoyment.
  Shenandoah Valley Zinfandel
The power and intensity of fruit you've come to expect with our Robert Cowan Zin but this 2000 vintage is balanced with elegance and grace. Upon first sip you'll be hooked. Organically grown, of course, and aged in Minnesota oak.
  Sierra Dreams
Our 2003 Sierra Dreams, is made from organically grown Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. This is a handsome blush/rose where the rose portion begins allowing fermentation to take place with the Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon must(grapes, skins, juice together) for 2-3 days. Then quickly pressing the now totally red-like new wine and blending with the already fermenting white Zinfandel or blush portion. Lots of extra work to get such a vibrant blush color and wonderful flavors. The stuff dreams are made of - Sierra Dreams. Pleasantly off dry but not soda-pop sweet with lively natural acidity. A unique wine to be shared with sweet and dry wine drinkers alike.
  Tir na nOg
Tir na nOg means 'Land of the Youth', the name of a Celtic mythological place under the sea where you can live forever. We blend from our estate, 70% Sangiovese, 25% Zinfandel, 3% Grenache and 2% Syrah to make a California Chianti style blend. For reasons unknown we have only been able to produce our Tir na nOg in odd vintages like 1997, 1999 and 2001.
  Wilde's Soul of Man
The first ever Organically Grown port has arrived. This ruby port cuvee of Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, aged in Seguin Moreau American oak barrels, will excite you with its ultra smooth mouthfeel and wonderful fruit. Bottled 10/15/03 in 375ml bottles
  Z2 Cuvee
Z2 Cuvee - a ruby style port of two vintages of Zinfandel (thus the Z2), aged in Seguin Moreau Minnesota oak barrels.
