Lennox Vineyards

Lennox Vineyards Welcome, we are a small family-owned vineyard in the Russian River Valley appellation (AVA). Particularly in the cooler southern region, this is an area of premium Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes -- our focus. Making premium wine starts with growing premium grapes. We personally look after each vine, tailoring it toward our vision of a bottle of wine we can truly be proud to share. The second part of making a great wine starts with harvest. While our vineyard was in transition, we used the grapes from the old vines still in production and teamed up with our friends and neighbors at the Taft Street Winery to make our 2002, 2003, and 2004 Chardonnay at their facility. We benefited greatly from their modern equipment and decades of experience as well as their own commitment to making the best wine possible. With the replanted vineyard coming on line, we have moved to our next phase of development. We are very proud that the grapes from our primary vineyard go to winemaker Bill Hunter at Chasseur wines. He is a well recognized leader in Russian River Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Meanwhile the small home vineyard is coming on line and we are making progress in establishing our own nano winery at the house in which to process those grapes. We do not have plans for a tasting room but we are always glad to make new wine-enthusiastic friends.

  Chardonnay
We encouraged a malolactic fermentation to smooth out the mouthfeel but did not allow it go to completion in order to preserve a strong clean structure. This wine is great for sipping and pairs well a variety of foods. It has forward notes of tropical fruit, hints of honeysuckle, hazelnut, toffee, vanilla, and ginger-root. Smooth balance and hints of creamy butter and toast. The long full finish reminds us that a well-made white wine can be big and complex too.
  Chardonnay
This wine pairs extremely well with food. Clean and well structured, the wine presents a bouquet of lemon with hints of Asian pear and light tropical fruit. Flavors include citrus, pineapple, apple, with a hint of almond. This is quite a different wine than the 2002.
