Our personal Montemaggiore is a small hillside country estate in Sonoma County where we, the Ciolino family, grow grapes and olives for our hand-crafted wines and olive oils. Our family values are true to our ancestral home, that small hillside village in southern Italy—we live in harmony with the land, keep close family ties, and enjoy wonderful food and festivity. Here in Sonoma County, our dream is to produce exceptional red wines and olive oils, by hand, with pride and personal care.

Montemaggiore Syrah
The wonderful flavors and textures of the 2002 Montemaggiore Syrah are due to the intensively planted hillsides of Paolo's Vineyard, located at the very top of our small Dry Creek Valley country estate.

The wonderful aromas, flavors, and textures of the 2003 Montemaggiore Syrah are due not only to the steep hillsides of Paolo's Vineyard, but also to the unique combination of open- and closed-top tanks utilized during fermentation.

Superiore
Superiore is Montemaggiore's own special blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Every year the exact blend may vary slightly—the 2002 Superiore is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Syrah - but the synergy between our two varietals always produces a wonderful, age-worthy wine.
