MOSHIN VINEYARDS became a reality in 1989 when Rick Moshin, with the help and support of his family, bought a 10-acre mature Pinot Noir vineyard near the Russian River. At that time, Rick had been making wine for twelve years, and it had been his dream to make top-quality wines for reasonable prices. He had worked with some of the best wine makers in California, including Gary Farrell and Davis Bynum, but wanted to branch out on his own. In recent years, Moshin Vineyards has purchased two other vineyards with Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah vines. The most recent purchase is the future site of the Moshin Family Winery.

Our Merlot was grown in a cool weather year which gave wonderful color and intensity. This vintage of Merlot is dark and rich in complexity from fermentation using natural yeast. Black currant along with cherry and underlying herb flavors make this vintage smooth and delightful.

Pinot Noir 115 Clone, Russian River Valley
The 115 clone yields a light ruby color, with a spiced cherry nose, a smooth texture, and a round full body.

Pinot Noir Lot 4
Deep garnet in color, with aromas of dried cranberry, raspberry, vanilla, spices and hints of cedar, sandalwood and tobacco. Bright fruit flavors, silky mouth-feel, lingering finish and an excellent acid balance makes this a food-friendly wine with great cellaring potential as well.

Ripe cherry, cranberry and sweet spice flavors combine with soft tannins and subtle oak undertones. Open-top and natural yeast fermentation added with 9 months in French oak (20% new) give this wine its wonderful aromas of spice, perfume, and earth.

A sophisticated and well structured wine with aromas of raspberry, strawberry jam, cigar box and a touch of Burgundian earthiness. Full dark fruit flavors with hints of pomegranate, spice and vanilla. Subtle finish, excellent acid balance.
