Forgeron, the French word for Blacksmith also refers to artisans who build with their hands, combining experience with an extensive knowledge of their trade. Through his hammer, the blacksmith pounds steel into unique creations adding a signature to metal that says "quality." Our tasting, in an old blacksmithshopThrough our winemaking we strive for a signature that is just as telling. We assure quality through a time-tested, hands-on approach. Our careful selection of vineyards, our gentle handling of the fruit and our precise blending of varieties shows respect for age-old traditions. Forgeron Cellars has built upon a foundation ripe with this respect. A renovated, turn-of-the-century blacksmith shop houses our tasting room and winery, where we strive for a wonderful depth and complexity in our wines.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley
This is our very first vineyard designated Cabernet Sauvignon and definately a showshopper! Beautiful dark color with aromas of violets, chocolate and cedar. Complex with dense blackberries, chocolate covered cherries and loads of spice. Balanced with plush, lively tannins and long, spicy finish.

Chardonnay Columbia Valley
Alternating cool and warm weather brought about an exceptional
2005 vintage for white wines, resulting in an intense and full bodied, yet very elegant Chardonnay.
Showing a green/yellow tint reminiscent of a classic Burgundian Chardonnay. Aromas of pear,
honeysuckle, and creme brulee fill your senses. At the first sip, your palate is enveloped with citrus,
mint and white peaches. A huge viscous mouthfeel balanced with a nice acidity leads to a long, luscious finish.

Chardonnay, Columbia Valley
Ideal weather and precise vineyard management made for a very successful 2003 harvest. Our Chardonnay has a cult following now and all indications are that this vintage will be no exception. Bright, mineral and tangy, with a generous mouthfeel of pear and grapefruit. Shades of spice and toast from our wonderul Burgundian barrels balance the crisp acidity, ending with a fresh and lively note.

Late Harvest Gewurztraminer, Yakima Valley
Floral nuances in the nose of orange blossoms and rose pedals, followed by peach, pear, lychee and lemon grass. Flavors of honeydew and apricot with sweet undertones of cotton candy and almonds provide a lingering finish.

Merlot, Columbia Valley
Ooh La La! Now here is a beauty of a wine that has truly captured the essence of the vineyard and terroir. One of our favorite growers, Dick Boushey, and winemaker, Marie-Eve Gilla, have worked really hard together to produce the best possible fruitand ultimately, an incredible wine. We used 6 barrels of the most exquisite fruit from Boushey vineyard to produce our very first vineyard designated Merlot.
The nose is ripe with maracchino cherries, eucalyptus, vanilla, lavender and spice. In the mouth, experience rich, dense fruit of blackberries and chocolate covered cherries laced with cinnamon. This wine is incredibly balanced from start to finish. It covers your entire palate and begs you to take another sip. The finish is long and lush with no end in sight.
For a complete experience, our 2004 Merlot, Boushey Vineyard calls for beef, so we suggest trying it with Beef Wellington or prime rib.

Riesling, Columbia Valley
Our 2004 Riesling stylishly illustrates the potential of Washington State for world class white wines in cooler vintages. The nose is vibrant with inviting flint, citrus, lemon sorbet, coconut, rhubarb and honeysuckle aromas. In the mouth, kiwi and pineapple flavors are nicely framed by a lively acidity. The beautiful finish extends with graceful Granny Smith apple nuances. This Riesling offers an interesting combination of styles: very powerful and generous flavors typical of the new world and also a graceful restraint reminiscent of the old world

Riesling, Columbia Valley
This Riesling was kept in stainless steel tanks in order to keep the crispness and freshness characteristic of this wonderful varietal. Our 2004 Riesling is a bounty of aromas and flavors. Fragrant fresh aromas of apple, pear and orange blossom fill your senses. The silky palate is artistically underscored by a wonderful crispness. The lingering mouthfeel evokes visions of carefree afternoons spent with friends and family.

Syrah, Columbia Valley
Here is a wine with incredible depth and structure along with great fruit and more pronounced spice. Our 2003 Syrah is more of a Rhone-style with bigger, riper fruit that really reflects the vintage.
Beautiful dark aromas of dried cherries, hyacinth, brown sugar, nutmeg, and clove on the nose. The mouth shows bright cherry flavors integrated with coffee bean, pomegranate and plum followed by a long finish laced with cinnamon.
As for food, pairing this Syrah with a hearty lamb stew would be a match made in heaven. Cheers!

Unoaked Chardonnay, Columbia Valley
Impressively fragrant nose showing pear, candy and dried apricot aromas. Big mouthfeel with apple blossom, mineral and citruses flavors. Good acids give freshness, crispness, and a clean finish to this wine while the fruity aromas enhances its fullness.

Vinfinity, Columbia Valley
Dark aromas and toast on the nose. Luscious flavors of Bing cherry, spice and dark chocolate nuances coat your palate in a silky embrace. Big integrated tannins balanced by the perfect amount of acidity beautifully frame the plush mouthfeel.

Zinfandel, Columbia Valley
This wine shows classic Zinfandel characteristics from beginning to end with concentrated aromas and flavors. The nose is rich with licorice, blueberry, cassis and brown sugar. The mouth is loaded with blackberry jam, cardamom, coffee beans, creme brulee and white pepper. A long and lush finish with nicely integrated oak, spice and acidity. Nothing beats BBQ ribs and a glass of Zinfandel.
