Dalla Valle Vineyards
|
|
With a breathtaking, panoramic view of Napa Valley below, the vineyards surrounding Dalla Valle are made up of beautiful red clay soils intermixed with volcanic rock.
The soil here is hard and dense, forcing our vines to work arduously throughout the growing season. Unique to our vineyard site is the excellent sun exposure coupled with the influential breezes off the
San Francisco Bay that keep the eastern hillside of Oakville cool. Although the vineyard is four hundred feet above the valley floor, temperatures and sun exposure can vary quite dramatically. Typically, our vineyard has at least one full hour of additional sunlight through the growing season compared with the vineyards located below. This combination of soil and climate specific to our location, results in low yielding vines that produce berries full of complex flavors, focused tannins and superb color. Both our Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are ideally suited to this small, very particular site.

Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon
Our Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon is blended with a small amount of Cabernet Franc and aged in fifty to sixty percent new French oak barrels. This wine is consistent in its sleek sophistication, impressive structure and velvety berry flavors vintage after vintage—classic Napa Valley Cabernet in every facet. On average, we produce approximately two thousand cases of this wine a year.

Dalla Valle Maya
Alluring and full of unmistakable pedigree, Dalla Valle Maya is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from the small and remarkable vineyard that bears its name. Each year, less than five hundred cases of this rare and near perfect wine are produced. The grapes for Maya are aged in seventy to eighty percent new French oak—producing a graceful wine of extreme refinement, rich elegance and outstanding aging potential.
