Everett Ridge Vineyards and Winery

Everett Ridge Vineyards and Winery Everett A. Wise purchased the land in 1875 that is now home to Everett Ridge Vineyards and Winery. He brought stones by wagon from the Mill Creek area to build a winery in 1887. At that time it was considered the showplace of its day with two foot thick walls of the highest quality stone masonry trimmed in brick and plantings of fruit trees, walnuts and vineyards of Cabernet Sauvignon. It also boasted a wonderful barn built in 1887 of hand hewn beams and clear cut timbers, a replica of which stands today after a historic renovation in the late nineties. The current owners of Everett Ridge, David and Susan Macrae, hope to build on the boutique nature of the winery, producing small lots of quality wines. We grow Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Sirah and Touriga Nacional port varietal on the estate and we have the unique opportunity to purchase Sauvignon Blanc from the Dry Creek Valley, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley, and for harvest 2005, we will introduce a Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend from the Napa Valley. Our Winemaking Philosophy begins in the vineyard. Dick Schultz, our winemaker says, “the goal is to always make a wine that is the purest expression of the fruit. To me, this means conscientious grape growing practices followed by minimal intervention and quality caretaking at the winery. We all know that when fruit is taken care of in the vineyard, it really shows in the finished product.

  Balseiro Rojo
Blend of Portuguese varietals!
  Cabernet Sauvignon
Leading off with intriguing aromas of black cherry fruit and new leather, flavors of cherry cedar cascade onto the palate. Smooth yet complex in the mouth, and supported by supple tannins, this focused wine marries beautifully with grilled meats.
  Chardonnay
Alluring aromas of honeydew melon and spicy green apples are accented with tropical fruit notes of pineapple and mango. Bright, crisp fruit flavors of green apple and pineapple are balanced by creamy vanilla and toasty oak leading to a clean finish with honeysuckle and orange blossom notes.
  Chardonnay, Reserve
This limited production Chardonny is an elegant wine with harmonious flavors of pineapple, pippin apple, crème brulee, butterscotch and toasted oak. Medium-bodied with bright acidity, creamy mouthfeel and a smooth lingering finish with vanilla bean and banana notes.
  Estate Zinfandel
A well structured, full bodied Zin with flavors of blackberries, raspberries and cherries. Integrated spice and a hint of sweet oak on the mid-palate make this a wonderfully rewarding wine.
  Nuns Canyon Syrah
An elegant wine enhanced with a deep ruby color. Richly fruited with black cherries and plum with accents of cola and anise, it finishes with a lacing of butterscotch. Soft and supple tannins, and balanced acidity, make this a delightful wine.
  Pinot Gris
Perfect for a picnic, light supper or aperitif, this wine begins with pear and mineral aromas and finishes with crisp citrus and apple across the palate.
  Pinot Noir
DOUBLE GOLD and BEST of CLASS: CA State Fair Wine Competition. GOLD MEDAL: San Diego National Wine Competition. GOLD MEDAL: North of the Gate Wine Competition. Pretty perfumed aromas of black cherry, vanilla, cola, and spicy oak. The luscious mouth feel has layers of black cherry, cardamom spice and vanilla flavors. The full long lingering finish is accentuated with vanilla. A perfect match for grilled salmon with a soy-lemon glaze or duck in a cherry reduction sauce. Drink now through 2009.
  Pinot Noir, Powerhouse Vineyard
The first impression is one of deep, black cherry fruit with hints of violet and spice. Well-balanced acidity makes this mouth-filling wine an easy pairing with salmon, smoked trout or roasted fowl.
  Port
This wonderful Port has a tawny color with aromas of vanilla, orange rind and chocolate. Plums, cranberries and carmelized sugar envelope the tastebuds and pleasantly linger on the finish. Enjoy with chocolate, flan or strawberry rhubarb pie!

60% Zinfandel - 40% Cabernet Sauvignon
  Rose
Crisp acidity is balanced with a honey-accentuated mouthfeel and aromas of ripe peach and strawberry preserves.
  Sangiovese
Strawberry jam, plum and cherry aromas that are spiced with black pepper, anise and bittersweet chocolate follow through to the palate. Medium-bodied with bright acidity and firm tannins and a long finish of cherry, cocoa and sweet oak.
  Sauvignon Blanc
Herbal and citrus aromas on the nose, followed by flavors of grapefruit and pineapple. Nice rounded mid-palate with a hint of spice on the finish. Pairs will with seafood, poultry and ethnic foods.
  Sauvignon Blanc
GOLD MEDAL—San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. SILVER MEDAL—California State Fair. Inviting aromas of pineapple, mandrin tangerine, kiwi, with a hint of hay. Refreshing and lively on the palate with sweet pineapple, grapefruit and tangerine flavors. This vibrant wine is well-balanced with a clean mouthfeel.
