King Family Vineyards King Family Vineyards is a family-owned and operated boutique winery located in Crozet, just fifteen minutes from Charlottesville at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The winery specializes in small productions of ultra-premium wine that showcase the remarkable qualities of nearly 100% estate grown fruit. Founded in 1998, the winery's first vintage was only 500 cases. Today, the winery produces approximately 5,000 cases of wine per year. The covered veranda, expansive lawn, or brick patio are perfect for outdoor picnics while the Tasting Room and warm stone fireplace are inviting on cooler days. Bring your own goodies or pick from our gourmet assortments of chocolates, cheeses, salamis, spreads, and hot french bread. 2008 Monticello Cup winner. Directions
From Charlottesville: Take Rt. 250 West past Western Albemarle High School. Turn right onto Rt. 797 (Hillsboro Lane). Turn right onto Rt. 684 (Half Mile Branch). Go one mile, winery entrance on the left. OR, take I-64 West to Exit 107 (Crozet), turn right onto Rt. 250 East. Go 1/2 mile, turn left onto Rt. 707 (Hillsboro Lane) and then as above. From Waynesboro and points west: Take I-64 East to Exit 107 (Crozet). Turn left onto Rt. 250 East. Go 1/2 mile, turn left onto Rt. 797 (Hillsboro Lane) and then as above.

  Brut
This limited release sparkling wine is a great way to start any meal, toast a celebration, a great gift, or serve with dinner! Made in the traditional methode champenoise style. This blanc de blanc has fine, delicate bubbles. A nose of honey, buttered bread and toasted almonds. The mouth is round and full with flavors of pear, chestnut, brioche, and creamy mousse. The finish is smooth and lingering. Serve with lobster, scallops, salmon, foie gras and caviar.
  Cabernet Franc
This wine has a beautiful dark garnet color with a nose of currant, strawberry and spice. The mouth is full and round with silky tannin. Strawberry dominates with flavors of black peppercorn. The finish is smooth and long lasting. A perfect example of what 2007 reds are capable of in Virginia. Drink now through 2012.
  Chardonnay
This wine was fermented and aged in French oak barrels for nine months (30% new oak). There is toast, lemon grass, caramel, and nutmeg, and pineapple on the nose. The mouth is smooth, round and creamy with a great balance of freshness. There is smoke, white truffle, mango, vanilla, and anise on the finish. 50% malolactic fermentation completed.
  Crose
This dry rose is made from Merlot, Cabernet Franc. The wine was fermented and aged in stainless steel and has notes of strawberry, cherry and fresh grass. Perfect will grilled veggies, just to sip or with pizza!
  Loreley 'Late Harvest Viognier, Petit Manseng'
This dessert wine is made in the “vin de paille” style. Loosely translated, it is called “straw wine” because the classic method relies on drying clusters of grapes on mats of straw in the sun. Today, straw has been replaced with modern racks and they are dried inside under fans. The blend of 50% Viognier/50% Petit Manseng was fermented and aged in new oak barrels. There is candied fruit, orange peel and flowers on the nose and mouth. The mouth is balanced with bright citrus fruits, toast, and a hint of spice. Pair with cheese or fresh fruit, cheese cake, ice cream, or foie gras. Drink now through 2016. 300 cases produced. 375mL. 10% residual sugar.
  Meritage
A blend of 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 20% Petit Verdot. The wine has been aged in French oak for 18 months. The Merlot provides the core fruit with black cherry dominating. The Cabernet Franc rounds out the palate with fresh raspberry notes. The Petit Verdot adds depth, structure, color, and a slight floral character. Gold Medal Monticello Cup 2008. This wine can be enjoyed now, but should prove to be at its best by 2012.
  Merlot
There is plum and black currant on the nose with hints of cranberry, mushroom, tobacco, and leather. On the mouth, dark chocolate and coffee, with rich cherry and firm tannins. Tannins are lingering.
  Petit Verdot
Aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, this wine has violet, licorice and blueberry on the nose and front of the mouth. There are hints of wild roses and juniper berries on the mouth with a finish of cedar and cigar box. The mouth is full and round with firm tannins. Drink now through 2018. 248 cases produced.
  Roseland
55% Viognier, 45% Chardonnay. Fermented and aged half in stainless steel and half in French oak barrels the wine exhibits lemon zest, cinnamon and flowers on the nose with a hints of vanilla and mango. White peach on the mouth with spicy citrus notes. Creamy finish with great freshness.
  Viognier
Our Viognier (vee-on-yay) was fermented and aged 80% stainless steel tanks and 20% oak barrels. The nose has acacia flowers, cantaloupe, apricot, honeysuckle and pear. The front of the mouth is creamy with flavors of vanilla and pear. The mid palate is full, and fresh with orange zest and spice. The finish is long with nutmeg and spice.
