Winery at Wilcox

Winery at Wilcox One hour north of I-80, at the edge of the Allegheny Forest, you will find our winery situated on Mefferts Run Road, just off State Rt. 219. The winery offers over 30 wines, including still wines, sparkling wines, port, sherry and a blackberry cordial. All the wines are available for tasting. Hours: 10-6 every day, year round.

Directions
I-80, exit 16; go north on Rt. 219. Two miles north of Johnsonburg, turn right on Mefferts Road, watch for signs. Turn right on Mefferts Run Rd. 2 miles- Winery is on the left. From the north, stay on Rt. 219 past Wilcox, then watch for signs on the left.

  Autumn Leaves
A semi-dry, red wine that can also be heated for mulled wine. Great on a cold night.
  Auxxerois
This Alsatian grape comes to you made in a very un-traditional method. Fermented for 48 days in stainless steel, at 42* and finished with a hint of sweetness, this vinifera surprises your taste buds with hints of lemon, melon and lavender.
  Bear-ly Blush
A luscious salmon tinted blush made entirely from the steuben grape. Goes especially well with light cheeses and pasta.
  Brittany's Blush
A semi-dry rose' with a luscious color, named after the owner's granddaughter.
  Cabernet Sauvignon
This classic French varietal has hints ripe berries, soft smooth tannins, and a well balanced finish. Barrel aged in American & French oak for 6 months, this complex, rich red goes well with beef, heavy brown or red sauces.
  Celebration
A slightly sweet sparkling white for toasting any special occasion or just life itself. Serve chilled.
  Chardonnay
Rich, full-bodied, with a vanilla aftertaste, this wine goes well with Indian dishes, spicy foods, and sharp cheese.
  Clarion River Red
For those who enjoy Rasselas Rose', this spicy, deeper blend of Native American grapes is the ultimate party wine. Son Jamie's first attempt at a wine blend.
  Decadanz
Designer Bottle for 2004/2005…A voluptuously sweet Reisling with just enough "Geisenheim" grape to accentuate the melon and ripe-peach flavors with a pear fragrance. Join us this year, as we celebrate the "Dance", a decade of dreams, memories, hopes, and accomplishments.
  East Branch Sunset
The Winery at Wilcox's answer to those who seek the White Zinfandel. This blend is a slightly sweet wine with a delicate apricot color.
  Elk Country Red
2002 Blend of three popular reds, Chambourcin, Marechal Foch, and Chancellor grapes. Combines the best of all three grapes. A rich fruity wine with a wonderful, soft finish. Great alone or with beef or wild game. Semi-dry.
  Elk Country White
This crisp, clean, 2002 Cayuga is finished with a pronounced citric nose. Will compliment a wide array of foods, white sauces, seafood and fowl. Semi-dry.
  Hunter Red
A semi-sweet, full bodied red wine. Fruity.
  Merlot
A dry red, bursting with fresh tart cherry flavors supported by soft tannins from aging in French oak barrels for 10 months.
  Niagara
Another American favorite, this, the sweetest of the wines produced, takes you back in time to those heavy, sweet wines that your Dad used to make.
  Pinot Grigio
This European varietal, vinted true to it's character, is soft on the palate, has a neutral nose, contains vanilla flavors from barrel aging in Hungarian oak for three months. Serve chilled with moderately spicy, light dishes, salads, summer fare. Dry.
  Port of Chambourcin
Made in a non-traditional way, this 100% Chambourcin port comes to you fermented ( not fortified) to 19% alcohol. Unfiltered, this after dinner delight will please your palate, as well as your eye, where rich ruby red hues foretell of lingering flavors reminiscent of fresh ripe berries and black licorice.
  Port of Chardonnay
This is not the typical Chardonnay; fermented to 17% alcohol then fortified to 19%. Barrel aged in French oak to give nutty aftertastes and sweetened to make a perfect end to a great meal. The tastebuds will be delighted with the first sip.
  Rasselas Rose'
Semi-sweet blend, named after the road which connects Wilcox and Instanter.
  Schwartzbeeren
Made from 100% blackberries with no added flavor, this delightful cordial style treat will overwhelm your taste buds. Serve after dinner, with any fruit dessert, or alone AS dessert! This wine just won a gold medal at the Eastern International Commercial Wine Competition.
  Sparkling Gewurztraminer
A less sweet alternative to Celebration, our Sparkling Gewurztraminer packs loads of flavors with just the right amount of fizz to cool you on a hot summer day. Great with fresh fruits salads and fish. Limited time only
  Starlight
2003 designer bottle. Introducing a soft semi-sweet Riesling, with a light, fruity mouthfeel, and a soft finish. In honor of those REAL heroes of the past few years; those who protect and serve, and answered the call for our country.
  Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay
Rich, full-bodied, with a vanilla aftertaste, this wine goes well with Indian dishes, spicy foods, and sharp cheese.
  Viognier
light, refreshingly crisp on the palate, just LOADED with citrus flavors, with a hint of lavender in the lingering aftertaste.
  Wedding White
A semi-sweet wine that can be used for dinner or with cheese and crackers. Named for the wine used at the weddings of owner's daughter and niece. This wine just won a silver medal at the Eastern International Commercial Wine Competition.
