Roederer Estate
|
|
Ever since Champagne Louis Roederer was founded in 1776, the House has been synonymous with the world's great champagnes. Roederer's philosophy of unyielding quality is based on vineyard ownership, as well as the addition of specially-aged wines from Roederer's extensive reserve cellars, which ensure consistency year after year. The House is most famous for Cristal, the champagne created in 1876 at the special request of Tsar Alexander II. Roederer is also esteemed for its flagship multi-vintage champagne, Brut Premier, and its outstanding Brut Vintage, Blanc de Blancs, and Brut Ros? champagnes. Anderson Valley Brut
Roederer Estate Anderson Valley Brut builds on the 200-year winemaking tradition established by Champagne Louis Roederer in France. The first California sparkling wine produced by Roederer, the Anderson Valley Brut has established a reputation as one of California's premier sparklers.
Equally comfortable with candlelight dinners and summer picnics, the Anderson Valley Brut is not just for toasting! It's also wonderful with egg dishes (think brunch), sushi, spicy Asian food, fish and white meats with creamy sauces.

Anderson Valley Brut Rosé
Like the Roederer Estate Anderson Valley Brut, the Roederer Estate Rosé is untraditional. While most rosés are made with more Pinot Noir than Chardonnay, the Roederer Estate Rosé is closer to a 50/50 blend (60PN/40CH) of these two grapes. For color, the winemaker prepares a small portion of Pinot Noir with extended maceration and adds about 5% to the blend before secondary fermentation, imparting a subtle salmon tinge. Both the 60/40 blend and addition of the small amount of red wine create a charming wine of discreet finesse.
As with all Roederer Estate wines, the Brut Rosé is 100% estate grown. Oak-aged wines from the Estate's reserve cellars are added to the blend, creating a multi-vintage cuvée in the traditional Roederer style.

L’Ermitage Rosé
L’Ermitage Rosé brings complexity and smoothness to a higher level. The delicate salmon color, with copper hues, enhances the tiny bubbles and long lasting mousse. Notes of currant, apple tart and caramel create a complex, yet well balanced fruit and pastry taste, which lingers with a soft, creamy, long lasting finish. 54% Chardonnay - 46% Pinot Noir - 4.4% aged reserve wine

L'Ermitage Brut
The color of the 1998 L’Ermitage is a nice yellow with golden hues highlighting the tiny bubbles and long lasting foam. On the nose there are subtle notes of quince jam and honey intermingled with licorice and white flowers. The palate is creamy with soft floral and honey accents. The 1998 L’Ermitage is a lively and elegant wine with an excellent balance of fruit and acidity.
