A Little About the Owners.....The Wackman Family, Marilyn Wackman and her three sons, Howard III, Michael and Alan, a fifth generation farming family in the Elk Grove area, own and operate the Wackman Ranch. In 1993, they planted their first grapes. They had an idea that the red clay soils in Elk Grove, CA would produce a full flavored unique wine, and they did. Now, there are over 650 acres of grapes on the Wackman Ranch. Varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera, Merlot, Petite Syrah, Syrah, Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. In 2001, the three brothers along with their families decided it was time to make their own wines, so they embarked on the adventure of building their own winery. McConnell Estates Winery. We are currently serving 4 varieties of wine, a Chardonnay, a Merlot, a Zinfandel and a Cabernet Sauvignon. Please stop by for a taste and enjoy a little history of Elk Grove. Directions
From Sacramento: Drive south on CA-99. Take Exit #283/Eschinger Road (next exit after Grant Line Road). Make an immediate right turn, heading north, onto the frontage road (W. Stockton Blvd.). McConnell Estates Winery is on the left about 300 yards.
From Stockton/Lodi: Drive north on CA-99. Take Exit #284/Kammerer Rd/Grant Line Rd. Turn left heading west onto Grant Line Road over the overpass. At second stop light, turn left onto Promenade Parkway. This will dead-end at a field and turn left at the stop sign onto W. Stockton Blvd. Conue straight and it will parallel the highway. McConnell Estates Winery is on the right just after the vineyard.

Zinfandel, Wackman Ranch , Lodi
This estate zinfandel keeps up the tradition of having wonderful fruit forward flavors with hints of oak and soft tannins typically found in wines from our vineyards. It has been aged for 2 years in a combination of French oak and American oak barrels to give it those rich supple flavors we look for in our zinfandel.
