Barker's Blackberry Hill Winery

Barker's Blackberry Hill Winery In 1980 Jimmy Barker planted 3,000 thornless (hybrid) blackberry bushes on a rolling, four-acre- hillside in Northern Kentucky. He charged $1.25 a pound for you-pick berries. Based on availability, pre-picked berries are $2.50 per pound. When Kentucky legalized farm wineries in 1990, Jimmy applied for and was granted the first permit in Kentucky. The winery now sells Blackberry and Cherry Wine and Mead (Honey) Wine. We offer wine tasting daily. If you want to purchase wine, you need to visit us Monday through Saturday. Group tours of winery are available by appointment. 'He-pickers' and 'she-pickers' (don't laugh, that's what Jimmy calls 'em) will find plump, juicy berries in July and August. You can bring your own containers or purchase ours.
